Cobalt War Talbuk

Reins of the Cobalt War Talbuk is a ground mount from The Burning Crusade expansion, an armored war talbuk in a deep cobalt-blue coloring. It is one of four war talbuk variants sold by the quartermasters of the Kurenai and Mag'har factions in Nagrand (Outland).

Talbuks are hoofed animals that roam the open expanses of Nagrand. Despite their outwardly peaceful demeanor, an enraged talbuk is more than capable of trampling even a seasoned warrior. The cobalt variant stands out with its rich blue hue and the massive battle armor on its chest and face.

The mount is account-bound, meaning that once obtained, the Cobalt War Talbuk becomes available to all of your characters that meet the faction requirements.

• Movement speed equal to any war ground mount (equivalent to a regular ground mount; speed depends on your riding skill).
• Account-bound — obtain it once and use it on all of your characters.
• Counts toward mount-quantity achievements.
• Available to both factions — the Alliance buys from the Kurenai, the Horde from the Mag'har.

The mount is purchased from a faction quartermaster and requires Exalted reputation. The vendor and faction depend on which side you play.

For the Alliance — Kurenai

• Vendor: Trader Narasu, the Kurenai tribe's supply chief
• Location: Telaar, Nagrand (Outland), approximate coordinates 54, 75 — to the left of the inn entrance, below the flight point
• Required reputation: Exalted with the Kurenai
• Price: 100 gold (with the Exalted discount — 80 gold)

For the Horde — Mag'har

• Vendor: Provisioner Nasela, the Mag'har tribe's quartermaster
• Location: Garadar, Nagrand (Outland), in the center of the village near the talbuks
• Required reputation: Exalted with the Mag'har
• Price: 100 gold (with the Exalted discount — 80 gold)

Grinding reputation to Exalted is the main task on the road to the mount. Both tribes, the Kurenai and the Mag'har, are farmed the same way — just with different NPCs at different spots in Nagrand.

Main ways to gain reputation

1. Nagrand quests. A large quest chain is available in Telaar (Alliance) and Garadar (Horde), covering nearly the entire zone. Completing all the quests grants the bulk of the required reputation — usually up to Revered or close to Exalted.
2. Killing ogres. After completing the quest chain, start killing ogres in northern Nagrand — at Oshu'gun and the Hall of the Lawbringer. Ogres grant Kurenai/Mag'har reputation with no cap all the way to Exalted. This is the main method of topping off from Revered to Exalted.
3. Daily deliveries in Nagrand. Daily quests from the Telaar and Garadar vendors add a small but steady amount of reputation.
4. Halaa. Controlling the city of Halaa and the quests tied to it also award reputation with the corresponding faction.

Approximate farming time

• Completing all of Nagrand's quests raises reputation to Revered or Honored "out of the box"
• Topping off to Exalted through ogres alone takes a few hours, depending on mob density and whether you have a reputation buff
• Using the Talisman of the Kurenai (a wearable item rewarded at Honored with the Kurenai/Mag'har) increases reputation gains and significantly speeds up the process

Alliance — Telaar

• From Shattrath, use the portal to Nagrand or fly directly by gryphon to Telaar
• Telaar is located in the southwestern part of Nagrand, on a rise with an inn and a flight point
• Trader Narasu stands near the inn entrance, to the left of the door

Horde — Garadar

• From Shattrath, use the portal to Nagrand and head north toward Garadar
• Garadar is in the north-central part of Nagrand, beside a lake
• Provisioner Nasela stands in the center of the village near the talbuk pen and several other quartermasters
