Magenta Cloud Serpent is an epic flying mount from the cloud serpent family, available through the Trading Post system. It is a graceful serpent in a rich magenta-purple hue with a long, sinuous body, soaring through the air on waves of magical energy. The mount is purchased with Trader's Tender whenever it appears in the Trading Post's rotating selection.

Cloud serpents first appeared in the Mists of Pandaria expansion as mounts of the Order of the Cloud Serpent faction in the Jade Forest. Since then, many color variations have been added — from jade and azure to celestial and thundering. The Magenta Cloud Serpent was the first cloud serpent available through the Trading Post, and it first appeared in the rotation in April 2023 at a price of 900 Trader's Tender. The mount later returned to the rotation in February 2025 at a reduced price of 500 Trader's Tender as part of an anniversary event.

The Magenta Cloud Serpent is available through the Trading Post — a system of monthly rotating cosmetic items purchased with the Trader's Tender currency. The mount appears in the rotation periodically, so it may not be available in the current month.

1. Make sure you have unlocked the Trading Post. To do so, visit the Trading Post in Stormwind (near the Mage Quarter) or in Orgrimmar (the Drag)
2. Check the current month's rotation — the Magenta Cloud Serpent does not appear every month
3. If the mount is in the rotation, save up 900 Trader's Tender
4. Purchase the mount from the vendor at the Trading Post
5. Use the item to learn the mount — it will immediately appear in your collection across all characters in your Warband

How the Trading Post Works

The Trading Post is a system of monthly cosmetic offerings purchased with an in-game currency. Every month the selection is completely refreshed: some items leave, others appear. If you didn't manage to buy the mount during the month it was in rotation, you'll have to wait for it to return.

How to Earn Trader's Tender

Every month you receive 500 Trader's Tender for free, simply by visiting the Trading Post. Additional tender is earned through the monthly Traveler's Log:

1. Open the Traveler's Log in the Trading Post interface (Shift+J — Adventure Guide)
2. Complete the log's tasks — they include activities like "Complete 5 World Quests," "Win 3 Battlegrounds," "Earn 7,500 PvP Honor," and the like
3. Completing tasks rewards you with Trader's Tender. Filling the progress bar completely grants a bonus cosmetic prize
4. Unused tender carries over to the next month, but the maximum balance is capped at 5,000 tender

How Much You Need to Save

The Magenta Cloud Serpent costs 900 Trader's Tender at the standard price. With the monthly bonus of 500 tender, you'll need to earn an additional 400 tender through the Traveler's Log. This requires completing a few of the log's tasks over the course of the month. If you've been saving tender in previous months, the purchase will be no trouble at all. During promotions and anniversary events, the price may be reduced to 500 tender.

The Trading Post rotation refreshes on the first day of every month. So that you don't miss the Magenta Cloud Serpent:

• Follow the news — outlets publish the full list of rotation items in advance
• Use the "freeze" feature — you can lock in one item from the current rotation so it remains available the following month
