Get Palehide Direhorn mount

Palehide Direhorn is an epic ground mount added in patch 8.0.1 of the Battle for Azeroth expansion. It is a large direhorn dinosaur with a rare pale hide, purchasable from vendors for 500,000 gold. The mount's model is based on the direhorns from the Mists of Pandaria expansion but uses a unique color variant not previously seen in the game.

Important: The mount is still available for purchase. The only requirement is 500,000 gold and a riding skill.

• Guaranteed acquisition — no RNG or weekly attempts. Just save up 500,000 gold and the mount is yours
• No reputation requirements — unlike most gold mounts, the Palehide Direhorn does not require grinding reputation with any faction
• Unique coloration — the only direhorn with a pale gray hide. Other direhorns have vivid colors (crimson, slate, jade), which makes the pale variant stand out especially
• Available to both factions — both the Horde and the Alliance can purchase this mount from their respective vendors
• Counts toward your collection — it counts in the overall mount tally for mount collector achievements
• Scalable speed — as a ground mount, its speed depends on your riding skill (+60% or +100%)

To purchase the mount you need:

• Character level: 10+
• Riding skill: Apprentice Riding
• Gold: 500,000 gold
• Reputation: not required
• Quests: not required

The mount is bound on acquisition and becomes available to all characters on the account once learned.

For the Horde — Dazar'alor (Zuldazar)

The vendor Talutu is located in Dazar'alor, the capital of the Zandalari trolls.

1. Use the portal to Dazar'alor from Orgrimmar (Embassy — portal room)
2. Find Talutu in the Grand Bazaar

For the Alliance — Boralus (Tiragarde Sound)

The vendor Tricky Nick is located in Boralus, the capital of Kul Tiras.

1. Use the portal to Boralus from Stormwind (Embassy — portal room)
2. Find Tricky Nick in the trade district

Alternative Method

If the portals are unavailable (for example, on a low-level character), you can reach Zuldazar or Boralus through the Battle for Azeroth introduction quest chain. The starting quest appears on the notice board in your faction's capital.

1. Save up 500,000 gold. This is the main and only serious requirement. Methods for earning gold are described below in the "Tips" section
2. Make sure you have a riding skill. The minimum skill is Apprentice Riding, which is learned at level 10
3. Reach the vendor:
   • Horde: open the portal room in Orgrimmar and use the portal to Dazar'alor. Find Talutu in the Grand Bazaar (coordinates 48.4, 87.2)
   • Alliance: open the portal room in Stormwind and use the portal to Boralus. Find Tricky Nick in the trade district (coordinates 56.4, 46.6)
4. Buy the Reins of the Palehide Direhorn for 500,000 gold
5. Use the item — right-click the item in your bag to learn the mount
6. Done! The mount will appear in your mount journal and be available to all characters on your account
