Get Reins of the Quantum Courser mount

Reins of the Quantum Courser is a unique item that drops from the final boss of the Dawn of the Infinite megadungeon. When used, the item turns into a random mount from past World of Warcraft expansions. This is the only way to get a chance at many rare mounts from old dungeons and raids all at once.

The item was added in patch 10.1.5 (Dragonflight) and remains relevant for farming in Midnight.

Reins of the Quantum Courser drops from Chrono-Lord Deios — the final boss of the Dawn of the Infinite megadungeon. The item is only available on Mythic difficulty.

Drop chance: approximately 1–3%. Blizzard has never officially revealed the exact percentage, but according to community data the chance is extremely low.

Weekly lockout: loot from Chrono-Lord Deios is tied to the weekly reset. Each character can receive loot from the final boss once per week. The more max-level characters you have, the more attempts you get per week.

Trading within the group: if the item drops but you don't need it (you've already collected all the mounts from the pool), you can pass it to another group member during the current run.

The entrance to Dawn of the Infinite is located in the south of Thaldraszus, in the Temporal Conflux area.

The fastest way to get there is from Valdrakken — the capital of the Dragon Isles. There is a flight point near the entrance. When you arrive at the Temporal Conflux, look for the large building in the south — a descent leads down from it, and the portal to the dungeon is located at the top of that descent.

When used, the Reins of the Quantum Courser turn into one of 16 mounts. The item has duplicate protection — you will always get a mount you don't already have. If you already own all 16, the item cannot be used (but it can be passed to another player).

With the release of Midnight and the level cap raised to 90, soloing Dawn of the Infinite has become possible for most classes. The dungeon is designed for level 70, so characters at level 80+ in current gear significantly outmatch it in power.

Run Order

Dawn of the Infinite is a megadungeon with 8 bosses. On a solo run, the entire route from the entrance to Chrono-Lord Deios takes approximately 10-15 minutes depending on your class and gear level.

• Make alts. Each max-level character is an additional attempt every week. With a 1–3% chance, farming on 5–10 alts significantly speeds up obtaining the item.
• Choose fast classes. Demon Hunters and Druids clear the dungeon faster thanks to their high mobility.
• Check your collection in advance. If you already have all 16 mounts from the list, the Reins of the Quantum Courser cannot be used. Make sure there are gaps in your collection.
