Reins of the Veridian Netherwing Drake

Reins of the Veridian Netherwing Drake is a flying mount added in The Burning Crusade expansion. It belongs to the family of Netherwing drakes, which hatched from eggs of the black Aspect Deathwing and became saturated with the energy of the Twisting Nether. Among the six available color variants, the veridian drake stands out in particular: most variants have purple and dark tones, whereas this mount boasts a rich forest-green hue.

The mount is available to both factions, is shared across all characters on the account, and increases flight speed by 280%. Ground speed is 100%.

There are two ways to get this mount:

1. Quest — upon reaching Exalted with the Netherwing faction, you will complete the final quest chain and end up in Shattrath, where six drakes will be waiting for you. By choosing the quest Zoë, Veridian Netherwing Drake from the NPC Zoë, you will receive the mount for free. You can choose only one drake — the decision is final.

2. Purchase from a vendor — if you preferred a different color on your first choice, the veridian drake can be purchased from the NPC Drake Dealer Hurlunk at the Netherwing Ledge in Shadowmoon Valley for 200 gold. The purchase also requires Exalted with the faction.

• A character level 25 or higher (level 10 and Apprentice riding skill is enough to use the mount)
• Exalted with the Netherwing faction
• Master riding skill (280% flight speed) — required to progress the quest chain past the Neutral level
• Access to Outland (Shadowmoon Valley)

Reputation with the faction begins at Hated 0/36,000 — the lowest starting level among all factions in the game. Here are the main stages of the grind.

Hated → Neutral

Head to the southeastern part of Shadowmoon Valley to coordinates /way 60, 59. There you will find a blood elf named Mordenai, who wanders near the crystals. Take the quest "Kindness" from him and complete the entire starting chain of nine quests, finishing it with the quest "Ally of the Netherwing." This chain will earn you roughly 42,000 reputation points and raise your standing to Neutral.

Neutral → Friendly

After completing the starting chain, you will receive a Dragonmaw orc disguise and access to the Netherwing Ledge. This is where the first daily quests open up. At this stage, about 1,000 reputation points per day are available from daily quests.

Friendly → Honored

A new quest chain from Overlord Mor'ghor opens three additional daily quests. The total daily reputation gain increases to 2,050 points.

Honored → Revered

Quests for drake races against the Dragonmaw drakes and one more daily quest open up. Now you can earn up to 2,550 reputation points per day.

Revered → Exalted

The final stage — an additional quest chain opens up, tied to the Aldor or Scryer faction (depending on your choice). The maximum daily gain reaches 3,050 points.

Final Quests

Upon reaching Exalted, you will receive two concluding quests: "Bone Witch" and "Lord Illidan Stormrage." After completing them, you will be teleported to Shattrath, where six Netherwing drakes will offer you their services.

The main way to speed up the grind is collecting Netherwing Eggs. Each egg turned in to the NPC Yarzill the Merc grants 250 reputation points. The number of turn-ins is unlimited.

Eggs can be found in the following places:

• On the surface of the Netherwing Ledge — on cliffs, ledges, and among crystals
• In the mines beneath the Netherwing Ledge — eggs appear here more frequently
• In the Dragonmaw orc camp
• From killed mobs in the Ledge zone — a small chance of a drop

With active egg gathering, you can find 2–5 per hour, which significantly reduces grinding time.

Without eggs, relying solely on daily quests, the path from Neutral to Exalted takes roughly 14–17 days. Human race characters get a +10% reputation bonus, which shortens the time to 12–14 days. Active egg gathering can reduce this time by a few more days.

In addition to the veridian one, five more colors can be purchased from Drake Dealer Hurlunk for 200 gold each:

• Reins of the Azure Netherwing Drake
• Reins of the Cobalt Netherwing Drake
• Reins of the Purple Netherwing Drake
• Reins of the Violet Netherwing Drake
• Reins of the Onyx Netherwing Drake

All six mounts are identical in stats and differ only in color. Collectors should gather all variants — after the first free drake, this will cost 1,000 gold.
