Replica Blood Guard's Cleaver — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Replica Blood Guard's Cleaver is a one-handed axe added to World of Warcraft as a cosmetic appearance. The model recreates the battle axe of Chieftain Durotan of the Frostwolf clan, as he appears in the 2016 feature film "Warcraft". It is a wide, single-edged blade on a rough wooden haft with leather wrapping and metal fittings, finished in dark gray streaked with rust.
The item is of epic quality but carries no combat stats: its sole purpose is to add an appearance to your transmog collection. The axe is account-bound to your warband and is available only to Horde characters.
Source
The appearance was handed out as part of the promotional campaign for the release of the "Warcraft" feature film in spring 2016.
- Every player who logged into the game during the promotion received a special Horde crate in the mail.
- The crate contained two appearances at once: this axe and the
Replica Staff of Gul'dan. - Claiming the reward also granted a commemorative achievement dedicated to taking part in the event.
- The items were bound to the warband, so the appearance could be transferred to other characters on the same account.
The promotion has long since ended, and the axe can no longer be obtained through normal means. The appearance remains in the collections of those who claimed the crate back in 2016; for everyone else it is considered unavailable until a possible return in one of the future events.
Alternatives
This appearance has no color variants — it is a unique movie model. A paired item comes from the same promotion, and it works well combined into a single film-themed look.

If you need an axe with a similar silhouette, take a look at the one-handed orcish-style axes from the Warlords of Draenor expansion — they have a comparable "savage" blade geometry, though there is no exact match for the model.
Who It Suits Visually
- Ideal for Frostwolf clan and Frostwolf orc themed looks — the dark steel and rough forging hit the theme dead on.
- Looks great paired with furs, leather, and dark-toned hides, without bright metallic accents.
- Pairs with "savage" style sets on Horde warriors, hunters, and shamans.
- Contrasts with gilded and ceremonial armor — against that backdrop it looks deliberately brutal.
Tips
If you already have the axe in your collection, apply it through the standard transmogrification interface — there is no need to keep a separate item in your bags.
For a cohesive "cinematic" Durotan look, gather dark fur armor and add the paired staff from the same event if you have it unlocked too.
The appearance is Horde-only, so plan it for orc, troll, or other faction characters.
For those who don't have the item, it makes sense to watch announcements of anniversary and themed events: Blizzard sometimes brings such rewards back.
Since the model is unique, it works well as the meaningful focal point of a look rather than as a backdrop — build the set around the axe, not the other way around.
