Rethfuras, Scorched Stave of Cinders is a two-handed staff with a unique appearance, added in an update for the annual summer event. It is not a combat weapon but a cosmetic item: when used, it adds its illusion to your party's appearance collection, after which this staff look becomes available for transmogrification.
The model is rendered in a searing fiery-red palette: the head of the staff resembles smoldering cinders and charred wood, as if the shaft had just been pulled from a bonfire. The appearance is thematically tied to the fire festival and looks great in outfits built around flame and heat. The item is bound to the party, meaning it can be handed off to group members before anyone applies the illusion.
Rethfuras, Scorched Stave of Cinders is a seasonal reward from the Midsummer Fire Festival, which takes place once a year at the height of summer. The appearance drops from the festival reward for defeating the event boss:
Key farming details:
Visit Ahune every day while the event is running: only the first victory of the day grants a chance at the reward.
Don't skip days — the cumulative mechanic raises the chance with each failed attempt, and daily farming noticeably speeds up obtaining it.
Summoning Ahune in The Slave Pens requires activating an icy stone within the dungeon; use the Dungeon Finder to quickly reach the boss.
Since the staff is bound to the party, a spare copy can be given to a group member who hasn't unlocked this appearance yet.
The illusion is unlocked account-wide after it is applied, so there is no need to farm the staff again on other characters.
Plan your farming ahead: the event lasts a limited time, and the earlier within it you begin your daily runs, the better your chance to succeed before it closes.
