Riftmaker — Transmog Set Guide

Riftmaker is an epic one-handed dagger added to World of Warcraft with the The Burning Crusade expansion. The dagger has a clean, restrained silhouette without massive spikes or large ornaments, which makes it a versatile element of any look.

The weapon is tied to the Keepers of Time faction — the guardians of the timeways from the Caverns of Time — so its theme echoes the motif of rifts in time. The dagger carries a combat effect: on hit, it has a chance to wrap the target in a time rift that increases the interval between its attacks by 10% for 10 seconds. The effect is irrelevant for transmogrification, but it underscores the item's "time" theme.

Riftmaker cannot be looted from a boss — it is sold by a vendor for reputation.

• Alurmi stands at the entrance to the Caverns of Time, in the southern part of the Tanaris zone, next to the orcish structure by the descent into the time tunnel.

• To purchase it, you need Exalted reputation with the Keepers of Time faction.
• The cost is around 185 gold. The price is relatively modest; the main "payment" here is the time spent farming reputation.

Keepers of Time reputation is gained in two dungeons of the Caverns of Time complex:

• Old Hillsbrad Foothills — here you need to help young Thrall escape from Durnholde Keep. Completing it grants reputation up to Honored.
• The Black Morass — a dungeon where the bronze dragons repel an attempt to disrupt the course of history at the Dark Portal. Here you top up reputation to Exalted.

At high character levels, both dungeons can be soloed with ease, so farming reputation comes down to a few quick back-to-back runs.

• Looks great paired with a second light dagger of the same coloring — for rogues who dual-wield blades.
• Harmonizes with "time" and arcane-themed looks thanks to the glow along the edge of the blade.
• Its restrained, spikeless silhouette makes the dagger a good choice for clean outfits where a large weapon would steal attention.
