Rod of the Broken Temple — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Rod of the Broken Temple is an uncommon-quality two-handed staff added to World of Warcraft in the Legion expansion (patch 7.0.3). It is an appearance from the monk order hall weapon set: after the destruction of the Peak of Serenity, the monks settled on the Wandering Isle around the Temple of Five Dawns and founded the Order of the Broken Temple, which is where the item's name comes from.
The model is built on the base of a crafted Draenor staff with a light, Alliance-styled coloring on the shaft. The silhouette is clean and straight, without bulky finials — a calm option for looks where the staff shouldn't pull attention onto itself. Because the item is sold by the order hall quartermaster, only a monk can acquire it, but the assembled appearance is then used under the usual transmog collection rules.
Source
The item is sold by Caydori Brightstar — the monk order hall quartermaster. You can find her at the Laughing Crane on The Wandering Isle, where the order hall of the Order of the Broken Temple is also located — the Temple of Five Dawns.
- The appearance costs 100 order resources.
- The currency builds up over the course of the monk campaign and from the command table missions in the order hall.
- The item is available only to a monk character, since the vendor is tied to the monk order hall.
- There is no limit on the number of purchases: the appearance is added to your collection after it is bought and learned.
- To reach the order hall, all you need is to complete the introductory monk story chain in Legion.
Who it suits visually
- It pairs with light cloth and leather sets in a white-and-gold palette — the shaft doesn't clash in color.
- It harmonizes with pandaren and monastic themes in a look thanks to its origin in the Order of the Broken Temple.
- It contrasts with dark, shadowy sets — a clean light staff works as an accent in such a look.
- The straight silhouette without an ornate finial is handy for restrained, traveler-style character concepts.
Tips
The Wandering Isle is reachable from any monk order hall, so you can return for the appearance at any moment.
Stock up on order resources in advance: by the time you visit the quartermaster, 200 units for both appearances are usually already saved up over the campaign.
Grab both colorings at once — the light and the dark — so you don't have to return to the vendor a second time.
Before buying, check that the appearance isn't already learned: the collection doesn't count the same design twice.
The light coloring reads better against dark location backdrops, the dark one against light ones — keep this in mind when matching a look for screenshots.
The appearance isn't tied to a specialization: it suits brewmasters, mistweavers and windwalkers alike, as long as the weapon is a staff.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
