Sang'thraze the Deflector — Transmog Set Guide

Sang'thraze the Deflector is a rare-quality one-handed sword from the Zul'Farrak dungeon in Tanaris. It is a broad troll blade with a curved edge and a distinctive greenish, bone-like hilt, finished in the sandy, swampy palette of the troll dungeons.

The sword is interesting not so much in itself, but as one of the two halves of a combination that is legendary for classic WoW. Paired with the sword Jang'thraze the Protector, it combines into the powerful two-handed sword Sul'thraze the Lasher. That is why transmog collectors farm it for the final two-hander, but Sang'thraze itself also remains a separate appearance in the collection.

The item is unique-equipped: you can wield only one such blade at a time. The model comes from the early dungeons and fits well with "savage" and troll-themed looks.

Sang'thraze the Deflector drops from the boss Antu'sul — the overseer of Sul, an elite humanoid in Zul'Farrak.

• Antu'sul is located in the early part of the dungeon, in the area with the basilisks, at the point /way #1176 64.6 27.6.
• The sword's drop chance is around 20–21%, so it drops fairly generously, usually within a few runs.
• Zul'Farrak is a level 15–30 dungeon located in Tanaris. At max level in Midnight, it can be cleared solo with ease.
• There is no limit on the number of attempts — you can enter as many times in a row as you like through the dungeon finder or manually.

The second half of the combination, Jang'thraze the Protector, drops at the end of the same dungeon — from the final boss Chief Ukorz Sandscalp (point /way #1176 42.2 32.9). Its drop chance is noticeably lower, and Jang'thraze is usually the bottleneck of the farm.

Once you have both swords in hand, use the ability from Jang'thraze — it combines the blades and turns them into the epic-quality two-handed Sul'thraze the Lasher.

Sang'thraze itself has no direct recolors, but within the same theme it is worth considering the related blades from this very dungeon.

If you specifically want a one-handed "savage" sword with a similar silhouette, take a look at the matching Jang'thraze the Protector — it is almost identical in model and forms the second half of the set.
