Jeweled Sapphire Scarab
Overview

The
Jeweled Sapphire Scarab entered the Trading Post rotation as a bonus reward for completing the Traveler's Log in December 2025, as part of the monthly theme "Frozen Hearts." The mount itself is designed as a mechanical scarab with a faceted sapphire body and gold inlay, and belongs to the jeweled scarab series that continues the line of the Jeweled Onyx Scarab and foreshadows the Jeweled Jade Scarab.
Why you want this mount
- Movement versatility — the Jeweled Sapphire Scarab can travel both on the ground and in the air. Flight speed increases by +150%, +280%, or +310% depending on your riding skill, making it a full-fledged flying mount for everyday use
- Unique model — this massive beetle with a translucent sapphire shell and golden notches stands out in any collection and pairs well with the aesthetics of Uldum, Uru'tar, and any desert zone
- Part of a rare series — the jeweled scarab line is distributed through time-limited channels. Each crystal is available only during its own month, so missing the window means waiting for a possible return
- Account-wide access — once learned, the mount unlocks for all characters on your account regardless of faction, race, or class
- No Trader's Tender cost — unlike most Trading Post items, the crystal is not purchased with currency: it is granted for filling the progress bar in the Traveler's Log. That means you earn it in parallel with farming up to 500 Trader's Tender
- Tol'vir lore connection — the mount expands the line of Ramkahen artifacts and fits well with other rewards from Uldum
How to obtain
The main path is to fill the Traveler's Log progress bar during the active rotation month (December 2025) and claim the crystal as the monthly reward.
- Log into World of Warcraft on an active account and bring at least one character to level 10 — this is the minimum requirement for accessing the Log
- Open the Adventure Guide with Shift+J and switch to the "Traveler's Log" tab
- Review the list of monthly activities. In December the list includes classic tasks: Mythic+ dungeons, battlegrounds, holiday events, themed quests, and emotes
- Complete any activities to fill the progress bar at the top of the window. You don't have to clear the entire list — only the final bar counts
- Upon reaching the maximum on the bar, you receive the
Sapphire Resonating Crystal automatically in your inventory or by mail - Use the item to permanently learn the
Jeweled Sapphire Scarab mount. After learning, the crystal disappears
Where the Trading Post is located
The Trading Post is a monthly reward rotation system available in all current capitals. The Sapphire Resonating Crystal is tied to the Traveler's Log mechanic and does not require visiting a vendor directly — the reward arrives automatically. However, the Trader's Tender you accumulate in parallel can be spent at any of the listed vendors.
| Location | Vendor / entry point |
|---|---|
| Stormwind | "T&W" Trading Post in the Old Town district |
| Orgrimmar | "Zen'shiri" Trading Post near the Auction House |
Traveler's Log — how to fill the bar
The Traveler's Log resets on the first day of each month. Inside is a list of roughly 20–30 activities, each of which awards points toward the progress bar.
- Open the Adventure Guide (Shift+J) and switch to the Traveler's Log tab
- Review the available tasks. They are divided into categories: dungeons and raids, PvP, professions, exploration, pets, and general
- Choose the tasks most convenient for your play style. Clearing the full list is not required — the system sets a points "cap"
- Complete tasks in any order. Points are awarded instantly, and the bar updates on the fly
- Upon reaching 1,000 points you receive 500 Trader's Tender and the
Sapphire Resonating Crystal as the bonus of the month
The fastest tasks
- Emotes at specific NPCs — literally 30 seconds per task, points awarded instantly
- Winning a single battleground of any length — even losses count
- Clearing one Mythic+ dungeon or a heroic dungeon at max level
- Pet battles — especially useful for those already leveling up a collection
- Holiday events — December's "Feast of Winter Veil" tasks line up perfectly with the month's theme
Farming strategy
One month — one attempt
The crystal is available only in December 2025. After the month ends, the item leaves the rotation and returns for an indefinite period. That's why all planning is built around guaranteeing that you fill the Log's bar.
- Log in during the first days of the month and lock in the easy tasks (emotes, pets)
- Once a week, run a Mythic+ dungeon — that's 200–250 points at once
- In parallel, collect the monthly 500 automatically granted Tender and up to 500 additional Tender
- By mid-month you should have around 700 points, and by the 20th — all 1,000 and the crystal in your inventory
If you missed the month
Players who didn't manage to fill the bar in December 2025 temporarily lose access. However, Blizzard has publicly confirmed that Trading Post items periodically return. The Log's bar also does not reset when the month changes — accumulated Tender carries over.
- Save 500–1000 Tender in case the crystal returns in a future rotation
- Watch for Trading Post announcements at the start of each month
- Use the "freeze" function on an item of interest to carry it over to the next month
Tips
Run activities on a single main character — the Traveler's Log is account-wide, so there's no point spreading effort across alts. Focus on the character you prefer and clear tasks on them
Don't ignore Legion Remix — at the time the December rotation launched, temporary seasons like Legion Remix are active. Many of that mode's tasks count automatically toward the Traveler's Log, noticeably speeding up progress
Save 500 base Tender — even if you don't plan to buy other December items, the monthly grant accumulates. In 2–3 months you'll have a stash for any future mount
Use "freeze" wisely — if a specific cosmetic item interests you but costs more than your available stash, freeze it so it carries over to the next rotation. The crystal itself doesn't need freezing — it isn't sold
Check your riding skill level — flying the scarab requires the "Expert Riding" skill. Players at low levels will only be able to use it as a ground mount
Hook in December's holiday events — "Feast of Winter Veil" tasks, themed quests, and gifts are often included in the monthly Log list and close out several entries at once
Fill the bar before December 25 — after the holidays it's harder to find time for tasks, and missing the monthly window means losing the crystal for an indefinite period
The mount is account-wide once obtained — as soon as one character uses the
Sapphire Resonating Crystal, the
Jeweled Sapphire Scarab will appear in the mount collection across your entire account with no faction restrictions
