Sentinel's Branch — Transmog Set Guide

Sentinel's Branch is a two-handed staff in the night elf style, added to World of Warcraft alongside the Darkshore warfront in the Battle for Azeroth expansion (patch 8.1). It features a finial shaped like an unfurling leaf atop a dark shaft wrapped in silvery bark — the recognizable silhouette of Teldrassil's sentinel gear. The color scheme is held in cool blue-violet tones with a moonlit sheen, which makes the staff a thematic weapon for the looks of priestesses of Elune, druids and mages of a night elf bent.

In terms of power the item has long been irrelevant: Battle for Azeroth content trails the current Midnight expansion by two generations and is cleared with ease even solo. Today the staff is interesting purely as transmog — for its clean night elf silhouette, which is scarce in newer sets.

Sentinel's Branch is one of the Alliance-side rewards from the "Battle for Darkshore" warfront.

• The main method is a victory in the The Battle for Darkshore scenario on the Alliance side. After the win you receive a Sentinel Equipment Cache, which can drop a weapon or armor from the set, including this staff.
• The cache is also granted for the quest Warfront: The Battle for Darkshore, which becomes available when your faction controls the warfront.
• An additional source is the rare elite enemies in the Darkshore zone. Each such rare can be looted once per two-week warfront cycle.
• Some rares are only available while your faction owns the zone, so farming is tied to the current warfront phase rather than to your wishes.
• The content belongs to Battle for Azeroth and is long outdated in power, so there are no group requirements — the warfront and the rares are closed out solo.

The warfront cycle alternates between the Alliance and the Horde roughly once every two weeks, so the window for Alliance loot opens every other time. If the Horde currently owns the warfront, all that's left is to wait for the next phase.
