Skyreach

This is a linear dungeon added in the Warlords of Draenor expansion. Inside the dungeon, players will face 4 bosses and numerous elite enemies with various mechanics.

In this guide, we will break down all the dungeon mechanics in detail and cover the intricacies of fighting the bosses and elite enemies within the dungeon.

Ranjit

Main Boss Abilities

  • Fan of Blades

Ranjit strikes all players with blades that deal nature damage to all players and apply a bleed effect every 2 seconds for 6 seconds.

  • Windwall

The boss throws a chakram forward, dealing massive damage to anyone it hits.

The chakram travels in a straight line and deals damage both when flying out from the boss and when returning to him. An arrow indicator will appear on the ground in front of the boss, showing where the chakram is heading and from which side it will return.

  • Spinning Grips

The boss knocks two random players away from himself and leaves a special zone in their place. Entering this zone will apply a powerful knockback, most likely sending the player off the platform, resulting in death.

  • Four Winds

Ranjit throws a chakram into the center of the platform, splitting it in two with cyclones. The cyclones then begin moving across the platform, dealing damage and knocking back anyone they hit.

Strategy for Fighting Ranjit

  • Tanks

Try to position the boss at the edge of the platform. This gives other players more room to drop zones from Spinning Grips and dodge cyclones. The boss does not have any special tank mechanics, so you don't need to worry about being knocked back or taking heavy damage beyond the abilities described above.

  • Healers

Players will take constant damage. Try to save strong defensive cooldowns for the Four Winds phase, as in addition to this ability, the boss will use all other abilities, significantly increasing incoming damage on the group.

  • DPS

Try to avoid puddles and cyclones, and during the Four Winds ability, use your defensive cooldowns, as you will take heavy damage during this phase of the fight.

Araknath

Main Boss Abilities

The main mechanic of this boss revolves around blocking the beams directed at the boss. The task of all players except the tank is to block these beams with their bodies, taking damage from them. If the beams are not blocked, the boss will heal, increase his damage, and eventually wipe the entire group in a very short period.

  • Energize

Three beams are directed at the boss, each restoring 2% of his health per second. If a player stands in the path of a beam, they will take the corresponding damage instead.

  • Solar Power

The beams directed at the boss begin charging him, increasing the damage of the next Supernova ability by 5% every second.

  • Supernova

Araknath deals massive damage to all players, which is also increased by the Solar Power ability.

The fewer stacks the boss gained during Solar Power, the weaker the damage to the group will be.

  • Smash

The boss deals massive damage toward the selected target, increasing the damage taken from the next identical ability by 300% for 1 minute.

The player will have time to move out of this ability and avoid the damage, but if they fail to do so, they will be guaranteed to die after two such hits.

  • Heat Wave

Three beams of light will be directed toward the boss, dealing massive damage to anyone they hit.

Strategy for Fighting Araknath

  • Tanks

Avoid the damage from Smash by moving out of the cone. You can take one hit, but the second will be lethal. Also try not to aim the wave toward players who are currently blocking beams, as they will be forced to leave their position and the boss will receive healing/stacks.

  • Healers

All players will take constant damage while blocking beams. Try to maintain their health without spending strong defensive cooldowns, as you will need them to restore health after Supernova.

  • DPS

Block all beams directed at the boss. The less the beams affect the boss, the easier the fight will be and the faster the boss will die.

Rukhran

Main Boss Abilities

The boss will summon an add that chases a random target and deals damage to all players every 2 seconds while alive. After dying, the add will leave behind an egg that must not be revived under any circumstances.

  • Summon Solar Flare

Rukhran deals fire damage to all players and summons a Sunwing that chases a random player and deals damage to all players every 2 seconds. The Sunwing's health decreases on its own, and after death it leaves an egg.

If you are being chased, do not under any circumstances lead the Sunwing over the spot where an egg from a previous add already lies. If two adds die in the same location, they will resurrect and you will have to kill them again, which will most likely result in the death of the entire group, as the mechanics of all adds stack on top of each other.

The Sunwing can be controlled with various crowd control abilities. Make sure to use them to kill the add in the desired location and reduce the amount of damage dealt.

  • Blaze of Glory

When the Sunwing dies, it deals heavy damage to everyone within 8 yards.

  • Searing Feathers

Rukhran flies to the other end of the platform and begins channeling an ability that deals massive damage across the entire arena. To avoid this damage, you need to hide behind the pillar in the center of the arena. Failing to do so will most likely result in death.

  • Searing Claws

The boss deals massive damage to its target, then ignites them for 8 seconds, dealing fire damage every 2 seconds.

Strategy for Fighting Rukhran

  • Tanks

The boss always stays at the edge of the platform, so you cannot influence its movement. Your task is to control where the Sunwing dies, so that subsequent deaths do not activate the egg from the previous one.

Also make sure to use defensive cooldowns when Searing Claws is being cast.

  • Healers

Try to manage your defensive cooldowns so that you always have abilities available to heal the group during Summon Solar Flare. The Sunwing deals heavy damage to the entire group until it dies. Also try to use crowd control abilities if your class has them.

  • DPS

Make sure to run away during the chase in such a way that the Sunwing does not die on top of an existing egg. You can use crowd control, knockback, and grip abilities to make the add die in the desired location. Remember that if you have 2 or more adds on the platform, you will most likely wipe.

High Sage Viryx

Main Boss Abilities

  • Cast Down

Viryx summons an add that grabs a random target and begins dragging them toward the edge of the arena to throw them off. Players need to kill the add before it drops its victim.

The target of the add can also attack it while being carried. Make sure to help your allies, as your life depends on it!

  • Lens Flare

The boss selects a random target and directs a pursuing beam of light at them. A 6-yard zone appears around the beam that deals massive damage to anyone who touches it. Each second of pursuit creates such a zone until the ability ends, so move the beam in a way that the zones do not touch other players and you have clear space to handle other mechanics.

  • Solar Burst

Viryx deals massive fire damage to his target.

Strategy for Fighting High Sage Viryx

  • Tanks

Use defensive cooldowns when Solar Burst is being cast. This will reduce the damage you take. This ability can also be interrupted if other members of your group have not done so.

Also try to position the boss as far from the edge of the platform as possible, so you have space both for kiting the beam and time to kill the add that is carrying a member of your group.

  • Healers

The boss deals heavy AoE fire damage. Try to spread your defensive cooldowns across each phase.

  • DPS

Make sure to deal damage and use crowd control abilities on the add that is carrying a member of your group. If the add is about to carry you, run as close to the boss / as far from the edge of the platform as possible. This will make it easier to kill the add.

Kite the beam from Lens Flare in a way that leaves you free space to move when killing the add.

Elite Enemies

  • Dread Raven

This bird will deal heavy damage to the entire group and knock players away from it. Try not to stand at the edge of the platform, as falling off will result in death.

  • Solar Priestess

This enemy will cast Blinding Light, which will blind the entire group, leading to death, as paired with this enemy there is a Solar Elemental that leaves special zones under players that deal massive damage if stepped into.

  • Solar Elemental

In addition to damage zones under players, the elemental will also summon a sphere that heals all nearby enemies. This sphere must be killed before the other enemies.
