Soaring Razorwing
Overview

Soaring Razorwing is a flying mount added to World of Warcraft in patch 9.1 "Chains of Domination" (Shadowlands). It is a massive predatory razorwing lizard with a sandy-yellow coloring, native to the ruined zone of Korthia — a broken fragment of the Maw's Attic of the Devourer. According to the lore, razorwings adapted to life in the Maw: their wings are light enough for flight, while their tough scales can withstand the touch of entropy itself.
The mount is sold by Archivist Roh-Suir in Keeper's Respite, the main hub of Korthia. The purchase requires the sixth, maximum level of reputation with the Archivists' Codex faction and 5,000 Cataloged Research — the faction currency of patch 9.1.
Why You Want This Mount
- Flight in any flyable zone — once Shadowlands' Shattered Flight and The War Within's global flight are unlocked, the mount is suitable for travel in any zone where flying mounts are allowed.
- A rare razorwing model — razorwings only appeared in 9.1 and come in just five color variants. The yellow-gold coloring makes the mount stand out from the more common colors.
- A cosmetic collection capstone — the Soaring Razorwing is part of a family of five models — a great target for collectors.
- A guaranteed purchase — unlike other razorwings that drop randomly from rare mobs or eggs, this mount cannot be missed: bank the reputation and currency and the mount is yours.
- Available account-wide — once acquired, the mount unlocks for all characters on your account, regardless of faction and class.
- Quiet, relaxed content — farming Korthia requires no groups, raids, or PvP. It is all done solo at your own pace.
How to Get It
To buy the mount, you need to unlock the Korthia zone, meet the Archivists' Codex faction, level it up to the maximum 6th level, and gather 5,000 Cataloged Research.
- Complete the Covenant campaign through the chapter "In Search of Bonesmith Heirmir" inclusive (the Torghast chapter). This is a mandatory condition for entering patch 9.1
- Pick up the quest The First Step from your Covenant herald and progress through the chapters "The Battle for Ardenweald" and "Those Who Walk the Maw"
- In the chapter "Those Who Walk the Maw" you will be sent to Korthia and introduced to Archivist Roh-Suir. From this point you gain access to relics and begin leveling the faction
- Collect the nine quests of the "Research the Korthian Relics" chain — they teach the basic faction mechanics and grant the first reputation levels
- Farm Korthia's rare mobs and chests, turn in
Relic Fragments to Archivist Roh-Suir — each fragment grants 1 Cataloged Research and 0.5 reputation - Once you reach the 6th faction level (Exalted), open the rewards tab at Roh-Suir and purchase the

Access to Korthia and the faction does not open immediately. Before you start farming, make sure your character meets the following conditions.

|---|---|
| Character level | 60+ (80 recommended, since at max level Shadowlands content is cleared solo without difficulty) |

| Flight in Korthia | Automatically enabled after completing the introductory chain |

How to Get to Korthia
You can reach Korthia in two ways, and both become available after completing the introductory chain of patch 9.1.
- From Oribos. In the northwestern part of the Ring of Transference there is a stationary portal to Korthia. The return portal stands by the Obelisk in Keeper's Respite
- Through the Maw. After the "Chains of Domination" chapter, an "Anima Flow" teleport opens between Ve'nari's Refuge and Keeper's Respite, allowing quick travel between the Maw and Korthia
- Return stone. After completing the task "Face to Face with the Enemy", you will receive a
Hearthstone — a hearthstone with a 1.5-hour cooldown straight to Keeper's Respite
The command /way 62.6 22.6 in Korthia helps you quickly find the Reliquary of Remembrance, where Archivist Roh-Suir awaits.
Farming Optimization
The main sources of Relic Fragments and Cataloged Research are Korthia's rare mobs, chests, and story finds. Below is an efficient daily and weekly routine.
Daily Rotation
- Pick up Korthia's daily quests from the heralds of Keeper's Respite and the Heart of Korthia
- Complete all available Nathreza Assaults when they are active — assaults grant large batches of relics
- Make a round of all Korthia's rare mobs — each rare grants relics once per day. After patch 9.1.5 repeat kills also have a chance at relics
- Open the available chests — each chest grants 1 relic once per day
- Turn in all relics to Archivist Roh-Suir. Rare relics grant 48 research, epic ones 100–300
Weekly Quest
At the 4th faction level, the weekly quest Shaping Fate opens up. It requires gathering 25 Korthite Crystals at the rift portal and rewards 1,000 Cataloged Research and a large block of reputation. This is the single largest one-time source of currency — do not skip it.
Upgrades from Archivist Roh-Suir
As faction levels rise, purchases that speed up farming become available. Buy them in advance.
Multi-Farming on Alts
After reaching the 6th level on your first character, buy the item with a permanent +50% bonus to reputation gained and send it to your alt. On alts the introductory campaign skip also works, letting you reach Korthia in 10–15 minutes.
Tips
Start with the weekly quest — if you are aiming for the mount, every Wednesday (the EU reset) should begin with a run for Shaping Fate. This is the densest source of currency in the game.
Do not spend research on gear — at level 80 the item level 239 of Korthia gear has no value. Save all 5,000 research for the mount.
Hunt for epic relics — they grant 100 to 300 research per turn-in. Epic relics drop from elite rare mobs and large chests.
Use an addon for rares — Korthia's rare mobs can only be killed once per day for relics, so skipping them is wasteful. The HandyNotes and Rarescanner addons will show you uncleared targets.
Check the Nathreza assaults — during an active assault the number of rare mobs and chests in the assault zone rises significantly, speeding up farming by 2–3 times.
On alts, buy +50% reputation — the permanent sixth-level upgrade doubles the pace of reputation leveling, which is especially useful when farming several razorwings in parallel.
Do not skip opening keyed chests — four level-two keys open exclusive chests with an increased chance at epic relics. This noticeably speeds up the initial currency collection.
