Highlord's Vigilant Charger
Overview

Stoic Reins of the Vigilant Charger is a rare item that teaches the
Highlord's Vigilant Charger mount. This is a ground and flying Paladin class mount added in patch 7.2 of the Legion expansion. The Vigilant Charger is a color variant of the main Paladin class mount, finished in silvery-violet tones. It corresponds to the Protection specialization and is purchased from Knight-Commander Dawnseeker in the Sanctum of Light for 1,000 Order Resources.
The main Paladin class mount — the
Highlord's Golden Charger — is awarded for completing a quest chain on the Broken Shore. The Stoic Reins of the Vigilant Charger let you learn an alternative color of this mount that matches the Protection specialization's artifact weapon —
Truthguard.
Why You Want This Mount
- Guaranteed purchase — the mount is bought from a vendor, with no element of chance. As soon as you meet the requirements and save up Order Resources, the mount is yours.
- Unique color — the silvery-violet color scheme makes the Vigilant Charger stand out among the other Paladin class mount variants.
- Ground and flying — the mount works both on the ground and in the air, adapting to your riding skill.
- Available to all Paladins on the account — once purchased, the mount appears in the collection of all your Paladin characters.
- Low cost — only 1,000 Order Resources, which is significantly cheaper than many other mounts.
How to Obtain
Obtaining the Stoic Reins of the Vigilant Charger consists of two stages: first you complete a quest chain to get the main class mount, then you buy the alternative color from a vendor.
Stage 1: Obtaining the Main Class Mount
- Reach max level on a Paladin character
- Complete the Class Order Hall campaign in the Sanctum of Light
- Earn the Breaching the Tomb achievement on the Broken Shore. This is a series of Armies of Legionfall campaign quests, including constructing buildings, completing world quests and taking part in scenarios
- After completing the achievement, pick up the quest "Worthy of the Title" from Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker in the Sanctum of Light
- Complete the final scenario "Trouble in the Shadows," upon which you receive the
Reins of the Golden Charger — the main Paladin class mount
Stage 2: Purchasing the Stoic Reins of the Vigilant Charger
- After obtaining the main class mount, return to the Sanctum of Light
- Find Knight-Commander Dawnseeker — he stands to the left of the mission board, on the steps
- Purchase the
Stoic Reins of the Vigilant Charger for 1,000 Order Resources - Use the item to learn the mount
Where to Find Knight-Commander Dawnseeker
The Sanctum of Light is the Paladin Class Order Hall, located beneath the Chapel of Last Hope in the Eastern Plaguelands. To get there, follow the steps below.
From Dalaran (Broken Isles)
- Open your map and find the Class Order Hall portal in Dalaran
- Use the portal — you will arrive in the Sanctum of Light
- Head down to the main hall and find the mission board
- Knight-Commander Dawnseeker stands to the left of the mission board, on the steps
Directly via the Eastern Plaguelands
- Travel to the Chapel of Last Hope in the Eastern Plaguelands
- Enter the chapel and find the stone slab in the center of the hall
- The slab will slide aside, revealing a stairway down — descend into the Sanctum of Light
Other Class Mount Color Variants
Knight-Commander Dawnseeker sells three alternative colors of the Paladin class mount, each corresponding to one of the specializations:
| Item | Specialization | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Protection | 1,000 Order Resources | |
| Retribution | 1,000 Order Resources | |
| Holy | 1,000 Order Resources |
In addition, Dawnseeker sells glyphs that change the appearance of the
Divine Steed ability to the matching class mount color — for 500 Order Resources each.
Requirements
- Class: Paladin only
- Main mount: you must first obtain the
Reins of the Golden Charger by completing the class mount quest chain - Achievement: Breaching the Tomb (completed once per account)
- Currency: 1,000 Order Resources
- Riding skill: Apprentice Riding (for ground travel), Expert Riding (for flying)
In Battle for Azeroth and later expansions, the requirement to fully level the
Truthguard artifact weapon was removed. Now it is enough to have the main class mount to make the purchase.
Tips
1
The achievement counts account-wide — if you have already earned Breaching the Tomb on another character, you do not need to complete it again. It is enough to finish the Class Order Hall campaign and take the class mount quest.
2
Order Resources accumulate quickly — at max level, Order Resources are gathered from world quests, chests and command table missions. Saving up 1,000 resources is no trouble.
3
Buy all three colors at once — if you have enough Order Resources, purchase all three variants in a single visit. The total cost is 3,000 Order Resources.
4
The Chromie system — if your character is below level 50, enable the Legion timeline through Chromie in Stormwind or Orgrimmar to gain access to Broken Isles content.
5
Completion speed — at max level, the entire Paladin class mount quest chain takes about 1–2 hours if the "Breaching the Tomb" achievement is already done.
6
Glyphs for the Divine Steed — don't forget to buy the
Glyph of the Vigilant Charger glyph from Dawnseeker for 500 Order Resources if you want your Divine Steed to look like the Vigilant Charger.
