Get Thalassian Competitor's Skewer

Thalassian Competitor's Skewer is a one-handed dagger of uncommon quality, added in the Midnight expansion as part of the craftable Thalassian Competitor PvP set. This is the basic "green" tier of first-season Midnight PvP gear: the appearance is forged in the classic Thalassian blood elf aesthetic, with a slender blade and a recognizable gold-and-red hilt finish.

The required level is 90. The finished dagger binds when picked up, so you need to collect the appearance either with your own blacksmith or by ordering a craft from a player blacksmith and handing over the reagents.

The Thalassian Competitor's Skewer is a craftable item of the Blacksmithing profession. It is not a boss drop or a rating reward: to add the appearance to your collection, you either have to forge the dagger yourself or order the craft from a blacksmith.

For the finished dagger to work as PvP gear and scale up to item level 263, you need to invest Galactic Combatant's Heraldry when forging it. This heraldry is also sold by Mirvedon for Honor Points and occasionally drops from PvP chests and supply caches. If you have Galactic Gladiator's Heraldry on hand (bought with Valor Points), the dagger scales all the way up to item level 289 — but the epic heraldry is rarely placed on a "green" set, as it is usually saved for the rated gear set.

Honor Points are farmed in any PvP content: random battlegrounds, epic battlegrounds, the dark arena, and War Mode quests. The plans and the heraldry can also be bought secondhand — both items move freely through the auction house.

• It fits Horde elven looks well — especially blood elf and quel'dorei sets in a red-and-gold palette.
• It harmonizes with cloth and leather sets in warm gold-and-crimson tones, including thematic Silvermoon PvP-season sets.
• It suits a "palace" magister look: the slender ceremonial blade without any glow reads as a ritual weapon rather than a combat knife.
