Unshackled Waveray

Unshackled Waveray is an epic ground and flying mount added in patch 8.2 "Rise of Azshara" of the Battle for Azeroth expansion. It is a striped crimson deep-sea ray that dwells in the seas around Nazjatar. The mount is purchased from Finder Pruc in the Newhome settlement in Nazjatar for 250 Prismatic Manapearls at Exalted reputation with the The Unshackled faction.

According to the item description: "The Unshackled readily relate to these denizens of the deep, who have also suffered the cruelty of the naga." The mount shares its model with several related rays from Nazjatar, but stands out with its distinctive red-striped coloration.

• Guaranteed acquisition — the mount is bought from a vendor at a fixed price. No random drops — you just need to gather the required reputation and currency.
• Flying mount — it works both on the ground and in the air. Speed depends on your riding skill: on the ground +60% or +100%, in the air +150%, +280%, or +310%.
• Unique appearance — the model of a deep-sea ray with smooth flight animations. The mount looks especially striking over watery locations.
• Available to all characters — once learned, the mount appears in the collection of every character on the account, including Alliance characters.
• Nazjatar lore — the mount embodies the bond between The Unshackled and the creatures of the deep seas who suffered under the tyranny of the naga

To purchase the mount you must meet two conditions: reach Exalted reputation with The Unshackled and accumulate 250 Prismatic Manapearls.

1. Create or take a Horde character — the The Unshackled faction is available only to the Horde. The Alliance has an analogous faction, the Waveblade Ankoan, with its own mount variant
2. Reach Nazjatar by starting the quest chain in the capital Zuldazar (for the Horde). The quest appears after reaching level 50 (or via the Chromie Time system)
3. Complete the introductory Nazjatar storyline to unlock daily and world quests
4. Raise your reputation with The Unshackled to Exalted (42,000 points total)
5. Accumulate 250 Prismatic Manapearls
6. Head to Newhome in Nazjatar and find Finder Pruc
7. Purchase the Unshackled Waveray and use the item to learn the mount

Finder Pruc is a gilgoblin, a vendor of The Unshackled. He is located in the Newhome settlement in Nazjatar. This is the Horde's base camp in the zone.

How to get there

1. Use a flight point in Nazjatar (if it is already unlocked)
2. If you are in the zone for the first time — start the storyline from the capital Zuldazar. You will be transported to Nazjatar automatically
3. Finder Pruc stands in the central part of Newhome

Coordinates

In addition to the mount, Finder Pruc also sells other items for Prismatic Manapearls, including the battle pet Pearlescent Drakefish and various consumables.

To reach Exalted you need to earn 42,000 reputation points. The main sources are listed below.

Daily quests

Each day in Nazjatar there are requisitions and kill quests that grant reputation with The Unshackled. This is one of the main sources of daily progress.

World quests

Nazjatar world quests grant 75–150 reputation points each. The quests refresh regularly, so check the map several times a day.

Emissary quests

When The Unshackled emissary quest is active, complete four of the faction's world quests and receive 1,500 reputation points.

Contract

Use the Contract: The Unshackled — it grants an additional 10 reputation points for each world quest completed in any zone. Contracts are created by scribes.

Battle for Nazjatar

The PvP event "Battle for Nazjatar" grants 500 reputation points regardless of victory or defeat. The event appears randomly once a day.

Rare enemies

Nazjatar is home to many rare mobs, each of which grants 50 reputation points on the first kill per day. Up to 2,000 points daily when defeating all available rares.

Call from the Deep

The "Call from the Deep" event grants 150 reputation points each time it is completed.

Elite pet battles

Nazjatar has 12 elite battle pet trainers. The first victory over each of them grants 250 reputation points — up to 3,000 total (a one-time bonus).

Bodyguards

The bodyguard system of The Unshackled grants 250 reputation points for each level-up of a bodyguard. Take a bodyguard with you when completing quests in Nazjatar.

Mardivas's Laboratory

The weekly quest in Mardivas's Laboratory rewards 500 reputation points.

Prismatic Manapearls are the currency of Nazjatar, required to purchase the mount. The main sources:

• World quests — the main steady source, granting 1–3 manapearls per quest
• Daily quests — requisitions and tasks reward manapearls
• Rare enemies — some rares in Nazjatar drop manapearls
• Treasure chests — scattered all over Nazjatar, contain manapearls
• Emissary quests — grant an increased amount of manapearls upon completion

With active play in Nazjatar you will accumulate 250 manapearls faster than you reach Exalted, so focus on reputation.

Daily plan

1. Check whether The Unshackled emissary is active — if so, prioritize this faction's world quests
2. Take a bodyguard and complete all available daily quests in Nazjatar
3. Complete all world quests in the territory of Nazjatar
4. Kill the available rare enemies — they are marked on the map
5. Collect treasures from chests for additional manapearls
6. Take part in the Battle for Nazjatar if the event is available
7. Complete the "Call from the Deep" event if it is active

Reputation boosters

• Darkmoon Faire — ride the carousel to gain the "WHEE!" buff (+10% reputation for 60 minutes)
• World Quest Bonus Event — grants +50% reputation for world quests during the event week
• Banner of Cooperation — a guild buff of +10% reputation

How long it takes

With daily completion of all available activities, reaching Exalted takes about 2–3 weeks. Using reputation boosters and aligning with bonus events can shorten this timeframe.

The Alliance has a mirror version of the mount — the Ankoan Waveray, which is purchased for 250 Prismatic Manapearls at Exalted with the Waveblade Ankoan faction. Both mounts, once learned, become available to characters of both factions.
