Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.

Void-Touched Fang is an epic one-handed dagger added to World of Warcraft in the Midnight expansion (patch 12.0.5). It is a purely cosmetic item: item level 1, zero damage, and its only purpose is to unlock a transmog appearance.
The blade model is taken from the elven weapons of the Sunwell Plateau raid from The Burning Crusade era and has been given a recolor to fit the Void theme: dark metal with violet-inky shimmers and a muted glow along the edge. The appearance belongs to the void weapon line of the Voidsurge event and pairs with the updated "void" looks of the tier 2 reference sets sold by the same vendor.
The Fang suits any class that uses daggers: rogues, druids, priests, warlocks, mages and shamans. Since it is a cosmetic item, it has no specialization restrictions — the appearance applies to any weapon of the matching type.
The Void-Touched Fang cannot be obtained directly. It is among the weapon appearances that drop at random from the container Cache of Void-Touched Weapons.
The cache is purchased from the vendor Triam Dawnsetter. The NPC stands on a platform above the Bazaar in Lunarsight, next to the artisans' quarter:
The price of a single weapon cache is 10 units of the Field Accolade currency and 200 units of Voidlight Marl.
Key farming notes:
Both currencies — Field Accolade and Voidlight Marl — are earned in the Voidsurge events and at ritual sites. Voidsurge consists of short Void strikes that are done solo, and large Void incursions, for which it is best to gather a group. The active event zone rotates weekly between Eversong Woods and Zul'Aman.
If you want gear with combat stats rather than just an appearance, look at the neighboring vendor Maren Silverwing — she sells caches with real gear for the same Field Accolade.
The dagger is not the only blade in the void weapon set. The same cache can drop a kindred dagger of the same violet-black palette:
| Appearance | Source | Wowhead |
|---|---|---|
| Void-Touched Gutter | Cache of Void-Touched Weapons | item=263943 |
If you specifically want the dark violet-black Void palette, take a look at the entire void appearance set from the vendor in Lunarsight — the armor of the tier 2 reference sets is recolored into the same scheme as the weapons. There are no recolors with an identical silhouette to the blade: the base elven model from the Sunwell Plateau raid in its original gold-and-red coloring is available only from the old The Burning Crusade content.
Before buying a cache, build up a reserve of both currencies: one trip to the vendor costs 10 Field Accolade and 200 Voidlight Marl.
Field Accolade is gathered fastest on the Void strikes — they are done solo and require no group.
Voidlight Marl accumulates on the large Void incursions and at ritual sites, so combine both activity formats in one zone.
Open the cache on any character: the dagger appearance unlocks for the entire account at once.
Thanks to bad-luck protection, the full weapon set is guaranteed to be collected within a finite number of caches — no duplicates drop.
If you specifically need the dagger but other weapon types keep dropping, keep opening caches: with each one the pool narrows and the chance for the Fang rises.
The active Voidsurge zone changes weekly between Eversong Woods and Zul'Aman — check the world map so you don't search for events by hand.
Only buy a cache while there are still unopened void weapon appearances in your collection, otherwise the currency is spent for nothing.
