Get Worn Dagger

Worn Dagger is a common (white) quality one-handed dagger with item level 1. It is one of the oldest weapon models in World of Warcraft: the item has existed since the classic version of the game and is still handed out to new characters.

Visually it is a short, no-frills blade: a narrow straight blade, a simple grip, and a modest guard. No glow, runes, or colored inlays — the model is as austere as it gets. It is precisely this simplicity that makes the appearance valuable for transmogrification: it does not steal attention and easily fits looks where the weapon is meant to appear ordinary rather than heroic.

The Worn Dagger is a starter weapon for rogues. A character of this class receives it in their inventory right at creation, so the appearance is familiar to nearly everyone who has ever leveled a rogue from the early levels. For everyone else it is simply a cheap white dagger from the starting zones.

The Worn Dagger appearance is unlocked in the simplest way possible — you only need to hold the item in your hand.

How to get the item itself:

• Create a rogue character of any race — the Worn Dagger will be in the starting inventory along with the off-hand companion weapon.
• If you do not want to roll a rogue, the item can be bought from weapon vendors in any 1–10 starting zone. Basic vendors sell a set of simple white weapons, including daggers.
• Occasionally the item drops from low-level enemies and can be found with minor merchants all across Azeroth.

How to unlock the appearance:

• Starting with patch 10.0.5 of the Dragonflight expansion, items of common (white) and poor (gray) quality can be used for transmogrification.
• To add the appearance to your collection, you simply need to equip the item. The Worn Dagger becomes soulbound on equip — equip it on a character of a suitable class, and the look will immediately appear in your wardrobe.
• After unlocking, the appearance is available account-wide: every character able to wield daggers can apply it.

A separate quest chain, reputation, or raid farming is not needed for this appearance — it is one of the cheapest and fastest looks in the game.

• It fits looks of a novice rogue or a city pickpocket, where the weapon should appear cheap and inconspicuous.
• It looks good with cloth and leather sets in dull earthy tones — the plain blade does not clash with muted armor.
• It is appropriate in "realistic" and roleplay builds without magical glow: a peasant, a low-grade mercenary, a fugitive.
• It pairs with the companion Worn Dirk in the off-hand — two identical blades give a cohesive austere look for a rogue.
• It contrasts with bright epic armor: against a glowing set, a plain dagger creates a deliberately "poor" accent.
