Has been playing WoW since 2010 and was active for a long time in player-run fan organizations dedicated to developing the Russian-speaking community across social media.

Ai-Li's Skymirror is an effect toy that lets you take on a semi-transparent "mirror" appearance of any friendly player you target for 10 minutes. Technically, activating it applies the
Skymirror Image buff to your character — visually a slightly shimmering copy of the target's model that persists in combat and while moving. The toy's cooldown is 1 hour, and the buff lasts 10 minutes. The item grants no combat stats; the effect is purely cosmetic.
The toy was added in patch 5.5.0 as an ordinary "permanent" inventory item. In patch 6.0.2 (Warlords of Draenor, October 14, 2014), Blizzard moved the mirror into the Toy Box — after the first activation it unlocks for the entire account and no longer takes up a bag slot.
The flavor text sets the lore context: "Wrapped in a swirl of churning clouds." By design the mirror is the personal item of the pandaren monk Ai-Li Skymirror, which is exactly why it drops from her.
The toy is obtained only as a rare drop from a single NPC — Ai-Li Skymirror. You can't buy it on the auction house (the item is "Binds when picked up"), and in normal play no vendor sells it. The only exception is WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria mode, where it's offered by Horos on the Timeless Isle for 4,950 Bronze, but in the main Midnight game this option doesn't work.
At Midnight max level (90), the easiest way to reach Pandaria is:
Ai-Li Skymirror is a rare level 90 pandaren monk who meditates in a small "camp" beside a half-rotten stump south of Rikkitun Village, on the Rikkilea Rise. Spawn point:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| NPC | Ai-Li Skymirror |
| Zone | Dread Wastes |
| Spot | Rikkilea Rise, south of Rikkitun Village |
| Coordinates | 34.8 23.2 |
| Level | 90 (rare elite) |
| Health | about 3.8 million (originally in MoP; on Midnight it scales to the zone level) |
| Respawn | from several hours to a day, tied to the server timer |
Hit Ai-Li every time you fly through the Wastes. Ai-Li Skymirror is a rare elite, but with a fairly modest drop chance (around 3–5% per kill). Don't spend hours "camping": every time you're in Pandaria anyway (dailies, the Shrine, fishing, farming other rares) — make a detour to 34.8 23.2 and kill Ai-Li if she's at the spot. Over a long run, 10–20 kills usually yield the mirror.
Interrupt Healing Mists. Even at Midnight max level (90), when Ai-Li has little health, the habit of interrupting her self-heal will come in handy in WoW Remix or under level sync — there she still has time to cast.
Pick an interesting target to copy. Look for "showy" targets for the mirror: draenei in rare transmogs, evokers in dragon form, druids in moonkin form or a rare cat form, demonic warlocks. A plain human in starter gear looks boring — but a second Moon Priestess in a group raid gives a nice "wow effect."
Combine it with your own mage Mirror Image. If you play a mage, activate the Skymirror on a flashy target, then cast
Mirror Image — your four copies will inherit the chosen appearance and fly beside you as a full team of "doubles."
Farm the Dread Wastes rares along the way. This same zone holds about a dozen rare mantid and pandaren, each with its own visual loot. A full loop of the rare spots takes 15–25 minutes and also completes the meta-achievement "Elusive Enemies: Dread Wastes."
Counts toward collection achievements. Even if the mirror-copy effect doesn't interest you on its own, +1 to the Toy Box brings you closer to A Toy Hoard and the larger collector meta-achievements, which reward transmog and titles.
