Get Ai-Li's Skymirror

Ai-Li's Skymirror is an effect toy that lets you take on a semi-transparent "mirror" appearance of any friendly player you target for 10 minutes. Technically, activating it applies the Skymirror Image buff to your character — visually a slightly shimmering copy of the target's model that persists in combat and while moving. The toy's cooldown is 1 hour, and the buff lasts 10 minutes. The item grants no combat stats; the effect is purely cosmetic.

The toy was added in patch 5.5.0 as an ordinary "permanent" inventory item. In patch 6.0.2 (Warlords of Draenor, October 14, 2014), Blizzard moved the mirror into the Toy Box — after the first activation it unlocks for the entire account and no longer takes up a bag slot.

The flavor text sets the lore context: "Wrapped in a swirl of churning clouds." By design the mirror is the personal item of the pandaren monk Ai-Li Skymirror, which is exactly why it drops from her.

• A unique "mirror copy" effect. You target a friendly player (of any race, gender, gear, or form) and for 10 minutes become their slightly shimmering double. Almost no other toy offers such a free choice of appearance — it's one of the most flexible cosmetic effects in the game.
• Works for any race and any form. The mirror copies the target's current appearance, including draenei guises, druid forms, the warlock's demonic form, evoker augmentation, and temporary transformations. This is the basis of the popular combo "druid in moonkin form + Skymirror = a flying owl copy."
• Combines with your own class abilities. Your spells and transformations keep working under the mirror copy. A mage under Mirror Image turns into four copies of someone else's appearance, a druid in bird form flies in someone else's model, and so on.
• Account-bound. After the first activation the toy goes into the Toy Box and is available on all your characters — on any faction, class, or realm. There's no need to farm Ai-Li again on alts.
• Levels up your Toy Box and collection achievements. +1 to the Toy Box brings you closer to A Toy Hoard and the larger collector meta-achievements for 200, 300, and 400 toys.
• Lore and cosmetic vibe for screenshots. The mirror is a must-have exhibit for collectors of "weird" Pandaria items: it looks great in videos, screenshots, and RP scenarios that call for a temporary "double" of another character.

The toy is obtained only as a rare drop from a single NPC — Ai-Li Skymirror. You can't buy it on the auction house (the item is "Binds when picked up"), and in normal play no vendor sells it. The only exception is WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria mode, where it's offered by Horos on the Timeless Isle for 4,950 Bronze, but in the main Midnight game this option doesn't work.

Step 1. Fly to the Dread Wastes

At Midnight max level (90), the easiest way to reach Pandaria is:

1. In the capital (Stormwind or Orgrimmar), use the portal to Pandaria. For the Alliance the portal is in the Eastern Earthshrine in the northern part of Stormwind; for the Horde it's in the Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar, next to Ji Firepaw. The portal opens after completing the Pandaria intro campaign (available from level 85).
2. An alternative is the portal/teleport to the Shrine of Two Moons or the Shrine of Seven Stars in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
3. From anywhere in Pandaria, fly southwest: the Dread Wastes lie south of the Townlong Steppes and west of the Valley of the Four Winds. The land entrance is via the Gao-Ran Battlefront bridge or the Path of the Shallow Footing from the Townlong Steppes.
4. No separate prerequisites or extra campaigns are required to enter the Dread Wastes at Midnight max level. The zone is fully open for flying.

Step 2. Find Ai-Li Skymirror

Ai-Li Skymirror is a rare level 90 pandaren monk who meditates in a small "camp" beside a half-rotten stump south of Rikkitun Village, on the Rikkilea Rise. Spawn point:

Step 3. Kill Ai-Li and grab the drop

1. Fly up to the spot and dismount near the stump.
2. Start the fight from range — Ai-Li uses monk techniques and is dangerous only at melee range.
3. Watch for her abilities (at max level they're no longer scary, but in original MoP they stung):
   • Dancing Crane — she spins in place and deals area damage. Just step away.
   • Healing Mists — self-healing that restores a noticeable chunk of her health. Interrupt this cast with any spell-control whenever possible.
   • Tidal Force — a linear ranged strike. Just step to the side.
4. Finish off Ai-Li. She's guaranteed to drop one level 90 shoulder or chest piece (for transmog) and a Small Bag of Goods. The drop chance for Ai-Li's Skymirror is roughly 3–5% per kill.
5. If the mirror doesn't drop, Ai-Li disappears until her next respawn. There's no point in "camping": there's a single spawn point and she has no other locations, so switch to parallel activities (other rares, dailies, and Pandaria chests) and check the spot again in 2–3 hours.

Step 4. Activate the toy

1. Open your bag and right-click Ai-Li's Skymirror to add it to your Toy Box.
2. After activation the item itself disappears from your inventory — the toy is now available on any character on the account via the collections panel.
3. Drag the toy's icon to your action bar, target a friendly player, and activate it — you'll turn into their slightly shimmering copy for 10 minutes.

Step 5. (Optional) The WoW Remix alternative

• In WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria mode, the mirror is sold by Horos on the Timeless Isle for 4,950 Bronze. This is a convenient "fallback" route if Ai-Li won't drop the mirror for weeks in the main game and a Remix season is currently active.
• In the main Midnight game the Remix copy isn't counted separately — it's the same toy, with a shared account-wide unlock.

• Effect: activating it applies the Skymirror Image buff to your character. You become a semi-transparent "mirror" double of your current target — the model, gear, and form are copied (druid, warlock, evoker, draenei guises, etc.), but with a slight shimmer along the silhouette.
• Duration: 10 minutes of real time. The buff persists in combat, across zone changes, and while using other abilities.
• Toy cooldown: 1 hour. After activation you can reuse the mirror only after an hour — regardless of whether the buff has expired.
• Target: only friendly players (not NPCs, pets, or enemies). You can't apply the mirror to yourself — you need to target someone else's character and activate the item.
• Where it works: in the open world, in capitals, and in old dungeons and raids. In arenas and rated battlegrounds the buff is removed automatically, as with most decorative toys.
• Stacking with your own class. Your abilities and forms keep working under the mirror copy. A mage under Mirror Image will look like four copies of someone else's model, and an evoker keeps the ability to switch into dragon form and back (though the augmentation guise usually resets to its own).
• What can't be copied. The mirror doesn't work on a target with the Tree Disguise Kit effect — that was closed by a hotfix on October 20, 2014. You also can't copy the Vial of Red Goo effect through a target — closed by a hotfix on June 26, 2015.
