Battle Gargon Vrednic
Overview

Battle Gargon Vrednic is a unique ground mount from the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion, awarded for completing the story campaign of the Venthyr covenant. Vrednic is the faithful battle gargon of Prince Renathal, who has stood by his side for millennia. Clad in sinstone armor, Vrednic strikes terror into enemies by his presence alone as he carries his rider into battle.
The mount was added to the game with the launch of Shadowlands (patch 9.0.1, November 2020) and belongs to the highly limited category of rewards for the final chapter of a covenant campaign. The model depicts an armored gargon — a huge four-legged predatory reptile with a long tail and an imposing maw, which is the traditional war beast of the Revendreth nobility.
Vrednic is one of several gargon mounts tied to the Venthyr, yet it is considered the finest: Vrednic is unique because it is the personal gargon of Prince Renathal himself, which the new ruler of the Court of Harvesters hands over to his loyal ally — the player — upon completing the campaign.
Why You Want This Mount
- Story reward — the mount is granted for completing the final, eighth chapter of the Venthyr campaign, "Dominion", making it one of the covenant's main story rewards.
- Unique model — Vrednic stands out from ordinary gargons with its distinctive coloring and richly decorated sinstone armor, unavailable on other gargons.
- Prestige — the mount is a mark that you have fully completed the Venthyr campaign and earned the trust of Prince Renathal himself.
- Lore — Vrednic is not a nameless steed but a specific character from the history of Revendreth, who accompanied Renathal for millennia.
- Account-wide access after 80 Renown — initially the mount is available only to Venthyr characters, but upon reaching maximum Renown with the covenant any character can use it.
- Part of the gargon collection — collectors will be keen to gather all six gargons of the Venthyr covenant alongside Vrednic.
How to Obtain
Battle Gargon Vrednic is awarded for completing the final quest of the Venthyr covenant campaign — Medallion of Dominion. This is the only way to obtain this mount in the game.
Step 1. Join the Venthyr Covenant
- Reach level 60 and complete the Shadowlands introductory storyline by visiting all four Shadowlands zones
- Return to Oribos and choose the Venthyr covenant
- Travel to Revendreth and join the covenant's ranks at Sinfall
Step 2. Raise Renown to 22
The covenant campaign is divided into eight chapters, each unlocking at a certain Renown level. The chapters unlock at Renown levels 5, 8, 11, 13, 17, 20 and 22. The final chapter "Dominion", ending with the Medallion of Dominion quest, becomes available precisely upon reaching Renown level 22.
Step 3. Complete All Chapters of the Venthyr Campaign
Complete all eight chapters of the story campaign in order:
- Chapter 1. Welcome to Revendreth — the introductory quests in Sinfall.
- Chapter 2. More than Sinful — an introduction to the process of Redemption.
- Chapter 3. A Matter of Succession — the intrigues of the Court of Harvesters.
- Chapter 4. The False Idol — uncovering Denathrius's betrayal.
- Chapter 5. Preparing for Battle — readying Renathal's allies.
- Chapter 6. Standing Against Sin — direct conflict with Denathrius.
- Chapter 7. Hunger and Envy — the struggle against the traitorous Harvesters.
- Chapter 8. Dominion — the final chapter, concluding with the acquisition of the mount.
Step 4. Complete the "Medallion of Dominion" Quest
- Pick up the Medallion of Dominion quest from Prince Renathal in Sinfall.
- Head to Maldraxxus and use Loran's mirror to enter the scenario.
- In the scenario, together with Kael'thas Sunstrider, break through the Necropolis.
- Confronting Kel'Thuzad — the final encounter, in which you must wrench the Medallion of Dominion from his grasp.
- Return to Prince Renathal in Sinfall and turn in the quest.
- Receive the
Battle Gargon Vrednic and a Renown emblem as your reward.

Walkthrough of the "Medallion of Dominion" Quest
Preparing for the Scenario
The Medallion of Dominion quest is an instanced single-player scenario in which you and your allies infiltrate Maldraxxus through a magic mirror. Before you begin, make sure you have:
- Full gear and a stock of consumables (healing potions, food)
- Free time to complete it (the scenario takes 20–30 minutes)
- A good internet connection — being interrupted in the middle of the scenario may force you to restart
Course of the Scenario
- Briefing in Sinfall — a dialogue with Prince Renathal, planning the operation
- Crossing through the mirror — use Loran's mirror in Maldraxxus to reach the Necropolis
- Fighting alongside Kael'thas — your companion aids you in battles on the way to the objective
- Battle with Kel'Thuzad's minions — a series of fights with the undead of the Scourge cult
- Final fight with Kel'Thuzad — wrench the Medallion of Dominion from his grip
- Return to Sinfall — turn in the quest to Prince Renathal and receive your rewards
Final Scene
After you turn in the quest, Prince Renathal places the Medallion of Dominion in its socket and delivers a historic line about how the age of the Master is over, and Revendreth no longer serves the Master but the Court. This cutscene concludes the entire Venthyr campaign and symbolizes a new era for Revendreth.
Tips
Plan ahead — completing all eight chapters of the Venthyr campaign requires reaching 22 Renown levels, which takes several weeks of regular play. Do the weekly covenant quests and Torghast activities to speed up Renown gains.
Don't rush to skip cutscenes — the final chapter "Dominion" contains important story moments that reveal the lore of Revendreth and the character of Prince Renathal.
Watch out for scenario bugs — historically this scenario was one of the most problematic in Shadowlands. If characters fail to appear or animations freeze, try relogging and using the "Reset All Quests" feature.
Be sure to reach 80 Renown — this will let you use
Battle Gargon Vrednic on all characters of your account, including those in other covenants.
Use the hearthstone to Sinfall — after joining the covenant you receive Sinfall's Hearthstone, which teleports you directly to the Venthyr headquarters, saving time when turning in campaign quests.
Keep the campaign in mind — once you obtain the mount the quest disappears from your log, so before finishing it is worth re-reading all the dialogue and studying the story moments that will not be available again.
Don't forget about timed progress — if you started the covenant campaign in Shadowlands and did not complete it before the release of newer expansions, the quests are still available; Renown also continues to accumulate through weekly covenant activities.
