Battle Magister's Shard — Transmog Set Guide

Battle Magister's Shard is a two-handed staff of cosmetic quality that arrived in the Dragonflight expansion alongside patch 10.2.0 in December 2023. The model leans into elven magical aesthetics: a dark twisted shaft is crowned by a large faceted crystal set in a metal frame, while runes and thin golden inlays run along its full length. The staff was conceived as part of the mage class set, but in the fall of 2024 Blizzard lifted the class restrictions from all Trading Post sets, so the appearance is now available to any class that can wield a staff.

This is pure cosmetics: the item is account-bound, deals only token damage, and exists solely for its looks. You only need to take it in hand once for the appearance to be saved permanently in your transmogrification collection.

The staff is part of the Battle Magister's Enchantments weapon set — a bundle of three appearances that was sold at the Trading Post.

• The "Battle Magister's Enchantments" set cost 500 Trader's Tender at the Trading Post.
• Besides the staff, the bundle includes the one-handed sword Battle Magister's Scimitar and the off-hand item Battle Magister's Scepter.
• Trading Post rewards rotate: the set first appeared in December 2023, and Trader's Tender is granted monthly for completing tasks from the Traveler's Log.
• Once the bundle is activated, all three appearances unlock at once in the collection and require no separate purchase.

Trader's Tender is the Trading Post currency, not in-game gold. It cannot be bought with real money; the main source is the monthly reward track and the current month's tasks. If a specific set is not in rotation right now, all you can do is wait for it to reappear in one of the coming months.
