Overview

Bestowed Ohuna Spotter

Game iconBestowed Ohuna Spotter is an epic flying mount from the ohuna family, added in patch 10.2.6 of the Dragonflight expansion. The mount is the reward for the meta-achievement Wake Me Up, which requires completing eight sub-tasks tied to the activities of the Dragonscale Expedition on the Waking Shores.

Ohuna are majestic owl-like creatures of the Ohn'ahran Plains, revered by the Ohn'ir clan. The Bestowed Ohuna Spotter is a gift from the Ohn'ir clan, an indispensable companion when scouting new horizons for the Dragonscale Expedition. The mount is usable from level 10 and works as both a ground and a flying mount.

Why You Want This Mount

  • Guaranteed acquisition — unlike mounts with a percentage drop chance, the Bestowed Ohuna Spotter is awarded for completing specific achievements. You don't have to rely on luck
  • Unique model — the ohuna spotter has a memorable appearance of a large owl with a distinctive coloration that sets it apart from other mounts of the ohuna family
  • Account-wide — once obtained, the mount becomes available to all of your characters
  • Enjoyable acquisition process — the meta-achievement covers varied content: wildlife photography, climbing, treasure hunting, and exploration. You'll earn the mount naturally while enjoying Dragonflight content
  • Ground and flying — the mount works in both travel modes, adapting to your riding skill and current location

How to Obtain

To get the mount you need to complete the meta-achievement Wake Me Up, which consists of eight sub-tasks. All of them are tied to the activities of the Dragonscale Expedition and the exploration of the Waking Shores.

  1. Reach the Dragon Isles and unlock world quests by completing the main Dragonflight story campaign
  2. Begin completing Dragonscale Expedition activities — cataloging wildlife, climbing, and exploration
  3. Sequentially complete all eight sub-tasks of the meta-achievement (details for each are below)
  4. After completing the final sub-task, the achievement Wake Me Up will be credited automatically, and you will receive the Game iconBestowed Ohuna Spotter in your mount collection

All Sub-Tasks of the "Wake Me Up" Achievement

The meta-achievement includes eight sub-tasks. You can complete them in any order.

1. Legends of the Lens

Legends of the Lens — photograph the legendary creatures of the Dragon Isles while completing wildlife cataloging world quests. The Dragonscale Expedition regularly hands out photography quests — as part of these quests you need to capture certain unique creatures. Watch for world quests with a camera icon on the Dragon Isles map.

2. So Many Perfect Shots!

So Many Perfect Shots! — take many "perfect shots" while cataloging wildlife. To get a perfect shot, photograph a creature from close range, at a good angle, and in proper lighting. The quality of the shot is shown after each photo. Complete photography world quests regularly and this achievement will close on its own.

3. Lead Climber

Lead Climber — complete 10 climbing world quests on the Dragon Isles. Climbing quests appear in different zones — you need to reach the top of a cliff using special mechanics (hooks and ledges). The quests rotate, so check the map regularly.

4. How Did These Get Here?

How Did These Get Here? — collect 10 lost supplies while completing climbing world quests. The supplies are placed on ledges and platforms along the climbing routes. Be attentive and inspect every ledge — the supplies are easy to miss if you rush to the top.

5. Dragon Glyph Expedition: Highest Peaks

Dragon Glyph Expedition: Highest Peaks — plant Expedition flags on the 10 highest peaks of the Dragon Isles. The peaks are scattered across all four zones. To reach most of them you will need Dragonriding skills — use Surge Forward to gain enough altitude. Each peak has an interactive point to plant the flag.

6. Adventurer of the Waking Shores

Adventurer of the Waking Shores — find and defeat 10 of the 29 rare enemies in the Waking Shores zone. Rare enemies are marked with stars on the minimap when you are nearby. Some of them appear only under certain conditions or at certain times. If a needed enemy isn't there, come back later or check for a group through the group finder.

7. Ready for Anything

Ready for Anything — unlock all talents in the Dragonscale Expedition gear tree. Gear talent points are earned by completing various expedition activities: climbing, cataloging, gathering resources. To fully unlock the tree, you'll need to complete a significant number of expedition tasks. Progress is saved between game sessions and is available in the expedition interface.

8. Treasures of the Waking Shores

Treasures of the Waking Shores — find all the hidden treasures in the Waking Shores zone. Chests are hidden in caves, atop cliffs, underwater, and in other hard-to-reach places. To find some treasures you need to solve simple puzzles or defeat guardians. Use Dragonriding to reach treasures in high-altitude and remote spots.

Completion Tips

  • Combine tasks — climbing and supply hunting are done at the same time. During climbing world quests, inspect every ledge for lost supplies, and you'll close two achievements at once: Lead Climber and How Did These Get Here?
  • Check world quests daily — photography and climbing quests appear on rotation. If the quest you need isn't up today, it may appear tomorrow
  • Use Dragonriding — for planting flags on peaks and finding treasures, dragonriding saves a lot of time. Level up your dragonriding talents for better maneuverability
  • Look for groups for rare enemies — some rare enemies on the Waking Shores are quite strong. Use the built-in group finder to team up with other players
  • Track your progress — open the achievements window (the Y key) and find Wake Me Up to track which sub-tasks are already done and which still need to be closed
  • Take your time — the meta-achievement isn't time-limited and won't disappear. Complete the tasks at a comfortable pace, and the mount will sooner or later land in your collection
  • Start with the easy ones — Treasures of the Waking Shores and Adventurer of the Waking Shores can be closed in a single play session by flying across the whole zone and gathering chests while killing rares along the way

How Long It Will Take

The time to complete the meta-achievement depends on your activity. The main limits are the rotation of climbing and photography world quests. If you log in daily and complete the available quests, closing all eight sub-tasks will take roughly 2–4 weeks. Some achievements (treasures, rare enemies, peaks) can be completed in 1–2 days of focused exploration.
