Overview

Bestowed Sandskimmer

Game iconBestowed Sandskimmer — an epic ground and flying mount from the sandskimmer family, added in patch 10.2.6 of the Dragonflight expansion. According to its description, these willful sandskimmers assist the Timewalkers in resolving catastrophes tied to the sands of time.

The mount is a reward for completing the meta-achievement Closing Time, which encompasses all content of the Time Rifts event and the Dawn of the Infinite dungeon. The Bestowed Sandskimmer uses the model of the yellow sandskimmer, but with a unique sandy-golden coloration.

Why You Want This Mount

  • Guaranteed acquisition — the mount is awarded for completing the meta-achievement. No RNG and no failed attempts — simply work through all the criteria steadily
  • Unique coloration — among all sandskimmers in the game, only the Bestowed Sandskimmer has a sandy-golden coloration. The closest alternative is the orange Amber Sandskimmer, which is temporarily unavailable
  • Ground and flying — the mount works both on the ground and in the air. Movement speed depends on your riding skill: ground speed from +60% to +100%, flying speed from +150% to +310%
  • Account-wide — once obtained, the mount automatically appears in the mount journal of all characters on your account
  • Content is not time-limited — the Time Rifts event and the Dawn of the Infinite dungeon are available permanently. You can complete the achievement at your own pace

How to Obtain

The Bestowed Sandskimmer is a reward for the meta-achievement Closing Time. To complete it, you must finish all 10 sub-achievements related to the Time Rifts event, the Storming the Shores event, and the Dawn of the Infinite dungeon.

  1. Travel to the Temporal Conflux in Thaldraszus on the Dragon Isles
  2. Wait for the Time Rifts event to begin — it activates at the start of each hour and lasts approximately 15 minutes
  3. Participate in the events regularly, completing sub-achievements one by one
  4. Simultaneously, complete both parts of the Dawn of the Infinite dungeon on any difficulty
  5. Complete the achievement "Fighting for the Future" related to the Storming the Shores event in Thaldraszus
  6. After closing all 10 criteria, the achievement completes automatically and you receive the mount

All Sub-Achievements: Detailed Breakdown

The meta-achievement "Closing Time" requires completing 10 sub-achievements. Below is the full list with a description of each.

1. Rift Explorer

Complete one Time Rifts event. This is the simplest criterion — just come to the Temporal Conflux at the start of the hour and participate in the event until the end, including killing the final boss.

2. Chronochronicler

Defeat bosses in all seven alternate realities during Time Rifts events. Each hour a random reality is activated. Realities and their bosses:

  • Temporal Conflux — Murozond
  • Ulderoth — Freya
  • Azekahz — Lich King
  • Gnomeregan — Illidan
  • Azk'rath — N'Zoth's Wrath
  • War Lands — Varian Wrynn
  • AZEROTH — Mechagon King

Realities rotate randomly, so closing this achievement will take time and regular participation.

3. Everything in Chronological Order

Complete 100 quests for Soridormi during Time Rifts events. Quests are given automatically upon entering the event zone. You can complete several quests per event, so this criterion fills up gradually with regular participation.

4. Lost in Time Menagerie

Collect all pets available from vendors in alternate realities. Pets are sold for currency earned by participating in Time Rifts events. Each pet costs 2,750 tokens.

5. Collapsing Reality

Accumulate 7,500 units of temporal energy in a single Time Rifts event to obtain Game iconEncapsulated Destiny. To do this, actively complete quests and kill enemies throughout the entire event. Reaching the required amount of energy is significantly easier in a group.

6. Ready for Battle

Use all six types of weapons appearing during the War Lands invasions. Weapons can be found on weapon racks or obtained from named and elite enemies in that reality. Weapon types: sword, axe, mace, bow, crossbow, and staff.

7. For All the Squirrels I've Been...

During the Ulderoth reality invasion, obtain the "Fluffy Fur" evolution from mutagenic orbs and allow Soridormi to pet you. Mutagenic orbs appear in the event zone — touch one to temporarily transform into a fluffy creature, then approach Soridormi.

8. Dawn of the Infinite: Galakrond's Fall

Complete the first part of the dungeon Dawn of the Infinite: Galakrond's Fall on any difficulty. The dungeon is available through the dungeon finder or from the entrance in the Caverns of Time.

9. Dawn of the Infinite: Murozond's Rise

Complete the second part of the dungeon Dawn of the Infinite on any difficulty. Like the first part, it is available through the dungeon finder.

10. Fighting for the Future

Complete the achievement related to the Storming the Shores event in Thaldraszus. You must defeat all three unique bosses of that event. The Storming the Shores event takes place in the Primordial Future (Thaldraszus) and activates on a schedule — check the in-game calendar.

The Time Rifts Event

Most of the sub-achievements are completed as part of the Time Rifts event.

How the Event Works

  1. The event begins at the start of each hour at the Temporal Conflux (Thaldraszus, Dragon Isles)
  2. Soridormi opens a portal to one of seven alternate realities
  3. During the first 10 minutes, you complete quests and gather temporal energy by killing enemies
  4. In the last 5 minutes, a portal to the reality's boss opens — gather with other players and defeat it
  5. After defeating the boss, all participants receive rewards: Paracausal Flakes, gear, and achievement progress

How to Get There

/way Thaldraszus 52.5 56.0 Temporal Conflux

Use the flight point in Thaldraszus closest to the Temporal Conflux. You can also get there via the portal to Valdrakken from your faction's capital.

Tips

1

Start with the dungeons — "Dawn of the Infinite: Galakrond's Fall" and "Dawn of the Infinite" are completed in a single run each. Complete them through the dungeon finder or with a Keystone to immediately close two out of ten sub-achievements

2

Participate every hour — the Time Rifts event lasts 15 minutes and repeats every hour. Even 2-3 events per day give steady progress on multiple sub-achievements simultaneously

3

Track the realities — for "Chronochronicler" you need all 7 realities, but only one is active each hour. An addon or third-party sites can help you track the current schedule

4

Accumulate Paracausal Flakes — pets for "Lost in Time Menagerie" cost 2,750 currency each. Buy them as you accumulate currency to close the criterion in parallel

5

For "Collapsing Reality" play in a group — reaching 7,500 temporal energy in a single event is difficult solo. In a full group, quests and kills stack up, significantly speeding up the process

6

"For All the Squirrels" — wait for Ulderoth — this criterion can only be completed during the Ulderoth reality. Memorize the location of the mutagenic orbs and Soridormi's position in advance

7

Check the calendar for "Storming the Shores" — the Storming the Shores event is not always active, but runs on a schedule. Watch the in-game calendar so you don't miss the activation

8

The mount is awarded instantly — after closing the last criterion, the mount appears in your mailbox or mount journal automatically. If it doesn't appear, try the command /cast Bestowed Sandskimmer
