Betrayer's Shadowspike — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Betrayer's Shadowspike is an epic one-handed agility dagger added to World of Warcraft in the Shadowlands expansion with patch 9.1.0. It is a narrow, curved blade forged in the mawsworn aesthetic: dark metal with a muted crimson glow along the edge and a twisted hilt that evokes the chains and spikes of the Maw. The model belongs to the Sanctum of Domination raid weapon family and reads as a "traitor's weapon" — hence the name.
The dagger drops in the Sanctum of Domination raid, and being an agility weapon it suits three classes: rogues, feral druids and demon hunters. It is a purely cosmetic target: the item is long outdated by its stats, and the only reason to chase it today is its appearance for transmogrification.
Source
Betrayer's Shadowspike drops from Remnant of Ner'zhul, the fourth boss of the Sanctum of Domination raid. The raid sits in the Maw and belongs to patch 9.1.0 of the Shadowlands expansion.
- Source — a raid drop from the Remnant of Ner'zhul, a separate attempt once a week on each difficulty.
- Drop chance — about 8.67% per character on a boss kill.
- The dagger drops on every difficulty: Looking for Raid, Normal, Heroic and Mythic. The model's appearance is identical across all difficulty levels.
- The item becomes soulbound on pickup, so it cannot be handed to another character — the appearance unlocks for whoever loots the dagger.
How to reach the raid: travel to Oribos, take the flight path to Korthia, then head into the Maw — the entrance to the Sanctum of Domination is in the northern part of the zone, near the Chains of Domination fortress, roughly at coordinates /way 69.7 31.8. There is no flight point right by the entrance, and you will have to pass through elite enemies; rogues and druids find it easier to reach the gate in stealth.
At current character level, Shadowlands raids clear solo without any trouble. The Remnant of Ner'zhul causes no headaches in solo mode: a single buff to health and damage on a modern character overrides all of the boss's mechanics, and the kill takes a few seconds. You can enter weekly — until you win or until the dagger drops.
Who it suits visually
- It pairs with rogue sets from the Sanctum of Domination — the dark palette of armor from the same raid matches the metal and crimson glow of the dagger.
- It harmonizes with any sets in a dark-crimson and charcoal-black range — looks in the spirit of the Maw and the dungeons of Maldraxxus.
- It fits a "traitor" or "dark assassin" concept: the twisted hilt and the blade's spikes reinforce the sinister theme.
- It stands out by contrast in bright paladin or druid sets — a debatable but expressive accent for those who want a sharp color clash.
- A matched pair of two copies suits a finisher rogue or a feral druid wielding two daggers at once.
Tips
Go for the dagger on a rogue, druid or demon hunter — an agility weapon unlocks the appearance only for classes that can wield it.
Enter the raid once a week: the drop attempt resets with the weekly reset, and you can farm in parallel across several difficulties.
Alongside the dagger, plenty of other weapons and armor drop from the Sanctum of Domination bosses — you can collect several appearances in a single run.
If the dagger does not drop from the Remnant of Ner'zhul, check the loot from the raid's other bosses: related mawsworn weapon models unlock a similar silhouette.
The Remnant of Ner'zhul is the fourth boss of the raid; the quickest way there is along the main route from the entrance, without clearing every hall.
For the fastest farm, set the difficulty to Looking for Raid or Normal — the model's appearance is identical to Heroic and Mythic, and the bosses die instantly.
Rogues and druids find it convenient to reach the raid entrance in stealth, bypassing the elite enemies of the Maw.
