Blade of the Blind Verdict is an epic-quality one-handed sword added to World of Warcraft in patch 12.0.0 alongside the Midnight expansion. The weapon is made for spellcasters: its primary stat is Intellect.

The blade has the strict, angular shape characteristic of Voidspire raid gear — dark edges and glints of void energy. Engraved on the item is a phrase from Venel Lightblood: "The flame of the Light spares no one." The weapon shares its model with the Blade of the Final Twilight, though their color tints differ.

The sword is wielded by Intellect-using specializations: all mages, demon hunters (Havoc), paladins (Retribution), monks (Windwalker), evokers, and warlocks. For transmog, the weapon can be used by any character with the appropriate gear type — regardless of specialization.

Source

Blade of the Blind Verdict drops from War Chaplain Senn — one of three participants in the "Blinded Vanguard" encounter in the The Voidspire raid.

The "Blinded Vanguard" is the fifth of the raid's six bosses, the penultimate one before the final fight. Three paladins — Commander Venel Lightblood, General Amias Bellamy, and War Chaplain Senn — attack the group simultaneously, each with their own mechanics. Senn specializes in the "Punishing" strike and periodically blankets allies with an "Aura of Peace" that shields them from direct attacks.

Item level by difficulty:

Difficulty Item Level
Raid Finder 240
Normal 253
Heroic 266
Mythic 279

How to get there:

The raid is located in the Voidstorm zone in Quel'Thalas. The entrance to the Voidspire is a monumental void structure, clearly visible across the landscape.

/way #2405 45.5 64.4 The Voidspire — entrance

You can get there via the Silver City portals or along the Rootway road.

Access: the minimum average item level to enter Raid Finder mode is 220 (Adventurer rank 1). For Normal and above — free entry with a group.

Lockout: once per week per character for each difficulty.

Who it suits visually

  • Fits well with looks based on the dark Midnight raid armor — the Season 1 tier sets share a similar color palette with angular shapes and void accents.
  • Works with armor in a dark-blue and black color scheme — especially plate and leather sets with metallic inlays.
  • Pairs well with sets using a "knightly" or "paladin" theme that combine elements of Light and Void at once — the material's duality is exactly what brings out such a look.
  • Does not suit bright, "warm" looks (red, golden fire) — the blade's monochrome cold palette will clash.
  • Great for building a "fallen paladin" or "demon hunter with elements of Light" look — the item's lore flavor supports it.

Tips

1

Farming the "Blade of the Blind Verdict" is best done in Raid Finder mode if all you care about is the transmog: it's easier to get into, and in this mode the blade is item level 240 — perfectly acceptable for an appearance collection.

2

Boss 5 is near the end of the raid — plan for 45–60 minutes for a full clear with a group, especially if your group isn't familiar with the mechanics.

3

If your main goal is transmog, also consider the third boss (Fallen King Salhadaar) on the same run: he drops the inv_sword_1h_raidmidnight_d_01Blade of the Final Twilight — a similar model, and you'll double your chances of getting at least one of the two versions per week.

4

The item is bound on pickup, so you can't pass it to another character — farm it on the exact character who needs the appearance.

5

The raid is available to all factions and races without restrictions — there are no additional quests or conditions for entry.

6

During weeks with the "Hour of Trial" event (increased raid drops), the chance of getting the item per run goes up — keep an eye on the in-game calendar.

7

Once obtained, the transmog unlocks for all characters on the account who can equip one-handed swords.
