Blood-Kissed Kukri — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Blood-Kissed Kukri is an epic one-handed dagger added to World of Warcraft with the release of The War Within expansion (patch 11.0.2). The blade is crafted in the nerubian style: a wide curved edge with a serrated inner blade, a dark hilt and chitinous plating. The silhouette references a real kukri — a traditional short knife with a distinctive curve — adapted to the aesthetic of the spider people of Azj-Kahet.
The dagger uses Agility and is built for melee combat: it is wielded by rogues, feral druids, demon hunters and enhancement shamans. For transmog, the stats do not matter — only the appearance. Once obtained, the item's look unlocks for your collection, and any class with dagger access can lock in this model.
The model's signature feature is the rich blood-red glow of the blade. It reads well from a distance and looks great as a pair: two of these daggers in a rogue's hands create a cohesive look. The same 3D appearance is shared by two other items in the game, so you can obtain the color you want through several routes.
Source
The Blood-Kissed Kukri drops from Blood-Bound Horror — the second boss of the Nerub'ar Palace raid. It is an aberration made of the Old God's congealed blood that rises from the crimson sludge in the "Blood Pool" chamber.
- The raid is located in Azj-Kahet, in the southern part of the City of Threads. It is the first raid of The War Within expansion.
- The dagger drops on Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic and Mythic difficulties. The item level scales with difficulty, but the transmog appearance is identical across all modes.
- The fight against the Blood-Bound Horror is near the start of the raid, so reaching it is quick — convenient for farming the appearance.
- Since the content belongs to a past expansion, the raid can be cleared by a small group or solo on Raid Finder and Normal. Start with those — loot drops more often, and the boss mechanics barely interfere.
- The boss loot is not subject to a weekly transmog lockout: you can enter the raid every week on several characters and repeat attempts until the appearance drops.
For players who prefer story mode, a Story difficulty for the raid is also available — it is scaled for a group of one to ten players. However, the transmog appearance from Story mode does not count toward your collection, so to farm the look choose Raid Finder or higher.
Visual Fit
- Looks with a bloody, crimson theme: the red glow of the blade echoes sets dominated by dark-red and black tones.
- Nerubian and spider sets from The War Within — the dagger was designed around this aesthetic and assembles a cohesive look with the plate and mail armor from Azj-Kahet.
- Old God cultist looks: the dark hilt and bloody glow suit concepts tied to corruption and N'Zoth.
- A paired set for a rogue: two identical kukris in both hands look symmetrical and emphasize the curved silhouette.
- Contrast against light cloth or leather armor — a debatable but striking choice if you want the weapon to be the focal point of the look.
Tips
1
Enter the raid via Raid Finder or Normal mode — on older difficulties the boss can be solo'd, and the appearance counts the same as on Mythic.
2
The Blood-Bound Horror is second in the boss order, so it is quick to reach; you do not have to clear the whole raid for one dagger.
3
Run attempts on several characters with dagger access — each gives a separate chance at the drop per week.
4
If you also need an Intellect dagger appearance, push the raid to the final boss — Sovereign's Disdain grants the same look from a different source.
5
For players active in PvP, the Forged Gladiator's Talon is a fast path to this model without entering the raid.
6
Before farming, check your appearance collection tab: if the color is already unlocked by another item of this model, you do not need to farm the dagger again.
7
The appearance is account-bound — once unlocked on one character, you can apply the transmog on all your heroes of the right classes.
8
The most convenient farm is on a rogue or demon hunter thanks to their high mobility and speed clearing the old raid.
