Get Blood Knight's Warblade
Overview

Blood Knight's Warblade is a two-handed sword added to World of Warcraft with the Midnight expansion (patch 12.0). It is a heavy blade in the Silvermoon style: a gilded crossguard, crimson inlays, and a narrow blade with elven engraving, kept in the red-and-gold palette of the blood knights. In silhouette it is a classic long two-hander, and it can be worn as transmog by warriors, death knights, and paladins.
The weapon does not drop from bosses and is not awarded for a quest — it is crafted by blacksmiths. Thanks to this, the sword is available to any player: you only need to find a blacksmith with the right specialization or gather the reagents and order it forged. Visually, the blade is designed as a companion to the one-handed swords from the same set of blacksmithing recipes, so it looks great in outfits with an elven and "blood" theme.
Source
Blood Knight's Warblade is an item crafted by the Blacksmithing profession in the Midnight expansion. The recipe belongs to the long blades branch (Weaponsmithing → Blades → Long Blades), and when this sub-specialization is unlocked the blacksmith learns the plans automatically. The finished sword binds when picked up, so you should order the forging on the character that will wear the transmog.
If the sub-specialization has not been unlocked yet, the plans can be bought separately —
Plans: Blood Knight's Warblade. They are sold by two vendors in Silvermoon:
- Eriden — blacksmith supplier on the Wayfarers' Plaza in Silvermoon.
- Lyrendal — quartermaster of the Artisans' Consortium in Silvermoon.
Forging the sword itself requires Midnight Blacksmithing level 50 and a set of reagents: sparks of creation, tormented tantalum, dazzling thorium, twilight alloy, sterling alloy, and a Silvermoon weapon wrap. Some of the materials are gathered in the Midnight zones, while the weapon wrap is made by leatherworkers, so if you lack the profession yourself it is easier to order the finished blade from another player.
Alternatives
The warblade has direct "relatives" — one-handed blades from the same long blades branch of blacksmithing. They share a single elven style and combine well with one another.
Name | Type | Source | Wowhead |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spellbreaker's Blade | One-handed sword | Blacksmithing, Midnight | |
| Magister's Mana Sword | One-handed sword | Blacksmithing, Midnight |
The two-handed sword has no recolored variants of its own at the launch of Midnight — it is distributed as a single model. If you want a similar silhouette in a different color, look to the one-handed blades above: they set the same red-and-gold palette in a paired form.
Who It Suits Visually
- Fits well into outfits themed around the blood knights and Silvermoon — the red-and-gold palette echoes elven armor and plate with gilded trim.
- Harmonizes with maroon and crimson armor sets: the saturated inlays of the blade support deep-red cloth and leather.
- Suits death knight looks in a "blood" color scheme — the blade reinforces the blood motif without overdoing it with spikes and bone.
- Stands out against light silvery-white sets: the gilded crossguard serves as a bright accent.
Tips
Order the forging directly on the character you need — the finished sword binds when picked up and cannot be passed to another hero.
If you do not have Blacksmithing, find a blacksmith with the long blades branch unlocked through the group finder chat or your guild — the recipe is widespread and available to many crafters.
Gather the Silvermoon weapon wrap in advance: it is made by leatherworkers, and without this reagent the forging will not start.
The plans from Eriden and Lyrendal cost the same — buy from whichever vendor is closer to teleport to in Silvermoon.
This sword and both one-handed blades from the same branch are learned together with the long blades sub-specialization, so when leveling a blacksmith you unlock the entire elven weapon set at once.
The two-handed model is convenient to pair with the set's matching one-handers on different characters — a unified style saves time on assembling transmog.
