Get Bloodspiller
Overview

Bloodspiller is a two-handed axe from the classic era of World of Warcraft. It is a massive battle-axe with a broad blade and a rough, "butcher's" shape, finished in dark steel with a bloody undertone — its look fully lives up to its name. The model belongs to the early classic axes and is recognizable by the distinctive silhouette of an executioner's axe.
Originally it was a fully functional level 27 combat weapon with damage and a "Bloodletting" effect that inflicts a bleeding wound on the target when it hits. Today its stats are irrelevant, and the item's value lies in its appearance: this brutal battle-axe fits the looks of berserkers, butchers, and low-level mercenaries very well.
By type it is a two-handed axe. It suits classes that use two-handed axes for transmogrification: warriors, paladins, demon hunters, and the like.
Source
The axe drops in the Scarlet Monastery dungeon — a classic low-level instance in Tirisfal Glades. The drop source is Scarlet Commander Mograine, one of the key bosses in the cathedral wing of the monastery.
How to obtain it:
- Head to the Scarlet Monastery in Tirisfal Glades (the undead starting zone).
- Make your way to Scarlet Commander Mograine and kill him.
- With a certain chance he will add "Bloodspiller" to his loot. The drop is not guaranteed, so several runs may be required.
The dungeon has long been outdated and can be cleared solo at max level in a matter of minutes, so farming the appearance comes down only to luck and the number of runs. There are no restrictions on re-entering — you can go back in and kill the boss again until you get the item.
Who it suits visually
- It fits plate and leather sets in a dark, earthy-bloody palette — the looks of butchers and executioners.
- It harmonizes with rough low-level gear free of fancy fantasy decoration, where what matters is precisely a menacing simplicity.
- It stands out in contrast against bright sets: the dark battle-axe sharply pops and sets a "villainous" accent.
- A good choice for a berserker or mercenary look that needs a heavy, grounded weapon silhouette rather than magical radiance.
Tips
Scarlet Commander Mograine stands in the cathedral wing of the monastery — head straight to him so you don't waste time clearing the entire dungeon just for the appearance.
The drop is not guaranteed, so plan for several runs and, if you wish, farm the appearance in bulk in a single visit across multiple re-entries.
The dungeon is cleared solo at max level in minutes; a separate group is not needed.
The appearance is added to your character's collection upon receiving the item itself — to unlock it, you only need to pick up "Bloodspiller" from the loot once.
If you play a class that does not wield two-handed axes, collect the item anyway: the appearance will go into your collection, and you can apply it later on a suitable weapon.
During the same run to Mograine, it's worth taking a look at the rest of his loot — the cathedral drops several recognizable classic appearances, and collecting them together is convenient.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
