Get Broken Silversnap Bottle
Overview

Broken Silversnap Bottle is an uncommon-quality one-handed dagger with a model shaped like a jagged "broken bottle neck." The item was added to World of Warcraft in the Cataclysm expansion alongside the Swamp of Sorrows zone and has been reworked in item level several times — in the current version of the game it is a level 80 item with the base stat bundle of "agility + stamina + critical strike."
The dagger's main appeal is its unusual model: instead of a blade, the hilt holds a jagged shard of broken bottle glass. This is a standalone visual design tied to the lore of the Silversnap goblins and their Trade Baron Silversnap, and in the transmogrification collection it unlocks a rare silhouette that is not duplicated in any raid or dungeon.
The dagger binds when picked up and suits any class that uses daggers: rogue, druid, shaman, mage, warlock, priest, or hunter. Once unlocked, the model becomes available to all eligible characters on the account through the wardrobe.
Source
The dagger is one of the reward choices for the quest "Drinks on the Rocks" in the Swamp of Sorrows zone. This is a short low-level quest, available to players from level 15 and up.
- The quest is given by Brono Goodgroove — a goblin in the middle of a beach party next to the goblin port of Bogpaddle.
- The coordinates of the party and quest pickup are roughly
/way 8 74 9(the southern shore of the Swamp of Sorrows, southwest of Bogpaddle itself). - The objective is to collect 10 bottles of "pilfered silversnap" from Silt Crawlers that crawl along the shoreline and shallows right next to the camp.
- The reward is chosen from six options — the "Broken Silversnap Bottle" dagger is one of them. To get this particular model, you must select it in the reward window when turning in the quest.
- The quest can be completed once per character and does not repeat — the dagger can be claimed on a single character only once.
- The "broken bottle" model is added to the wardrobe immediately after you receive the item — you do not need to wear or equip the dagger separately for it to appear in the collection.
- The quest itself is tied to the goblin resort of Bogpaddle, owned by Trade Baron Silversnap, and is framed as a parody of a beach festival with "silversnap" product placement.
The easiest way to reach the spot is through the Swamp of Sorrows zone from any side: from the north — across the border with the Eastern Plaguelands forests and then south, from the south — through the Burning Steppes. Inside the zone, head toward the southern coast: the beach camp and Brono Goodgroove himself, along with the beach revelers and beach beauties, are visible from afar by the garlands, deck chairs, and party noise.
At max level the quest takes two to three minutes: the silt crawlers die from one or two hits of any area ability, and the bottles drop frequently and quickly fill the counter of ten. This is the fastest way to specifically unlock this model in the wardrobe — no raids, reputations, or cooldowns to grind through.
Visual Fit
- Low-level goblin and pirate looks — outfits from Kezan, Bogpaddle, and Booty Bay built on brown leather, brass, and rough cloth.
- "Barfly" rogue sets — combinations of dark leather, striped shirts, and tattered trousers, where the "broken bottle" in hand plays the role of a tavern weapon.
- Joke "bar fight" builds paired with other tavern weapons: a cleaver, a bottle, a heavy mug, or a frying pan.
- Druid and shaman looks in the green-brown tones of swamps and coasts — the glass "shard" reads well against a muted natural palette.
- Contrast with high-level dress armor: an everyday bottle shard in the hand of a character in full plate creates a deliberate comedic accent.
Tips
The fastest way to unlock the model is to run onto the beach to Brono Goodgroove with any max-level character, finish off 10 silt crawlers in a couple of minutes, and immediately turn in the quest, choosing the dagger from the rewards.
The silt crawlers stand in small scatterings right by the water and in the surf line — walk along the shore without going deeper into the zone: there's no need to waste time in the swamp.
If a character has already completed the quest and taken a different reward, the choice cannot be redone — the dagger will have to be claimed on another eligible character on the account.
The full series of beach quests from Brono Goodgroove and Trade Baron Silversnap grants another batch of Bogpaddle-themed rewards and a fun "silversnap" toy — if you're after the dagger, it makes sense to clear the whole chain in one go.
For collectors of "everyday" weapons, the same chain also offers a Silversnap bottle opener — a one-handed axe with a themed model; it is taken as a reward for the same or an adjacent quest and can be picked up on an alt.
The dagger binds when picked up, so you cannot transfer it from an alt to your main character — you need to log in directly on whoever needs the model in the wardrobe.
All the NPCs at the beach party are peaceful, with no aggressive mobs within turn-in range — you can fly there straight in combat form without the risk of dropping out of your shapeshift.
