Cartel Master's Gearglider
Overview

Cartel Master's Gearglider is a flying mechanical mount in the broker cartel style, added to World of Warcraft with the Shadowlands expansion in patch 9.1 "Chains of Domination." It is a sleek glider fitted with gears, crafted in the aesthetic of Tazavesh — the bustling underground broker market.
The mount drops from So'leah, the final boss of the Tazavesh, the Veiled Market megadungeon. The approximate drop chance is around 1–2%, so collecting it requires regular farming. In Season 3 of The War Within, Tazavesh received a heroic mode with no daily lockout and was split into two standalone dungeons for the Mythic+ format, which made hunting for the mount significantly easier.
Why You Want This Mount
- Stylish mechanical design — the broker cartel glider looks unique, stands apart from standard flying models, and fits perfectly with characters built around the "broker" aesthetic
- Versatile mount — supports both ground and flying travel at +150% / +280% / +310% speed depending on your riding skill
- Account-wide access — once obtained, the mount unlocks for all of your characters of any faction
- A single-model collection — the glider model is reused across several variants (
Xy Trustee's Gearglider,
Vandal's Gearglider, the basic
Tazavesh Gearglider), and owning the main variant is a good goal for series collectors
How to Obtain
The main path is defeating So'leah in the Tazavesh, the Veiled Market megadungeon. The item drops in both heroic and Mythic modes.
- Reach level 60 (the minimum to enter) and unlock access to Tazavesh through the quest chain in Oribos
- Pick up the first quest The Oribos Almanac from innkeeper Ta'rel in the Idyllia sector (coordinates roughly 67, 50)
- Complete the chain of seven quests that ends with a trip to Tazavesh. This takes about 30 minutes
- Once the dungeon is unlocked, queue up through the group finder or assemble a group manually.
- Make your way to the final fight and defeat So'leah
- Open the chest — with a small chance, the reward will contain the
Cartel Master's Gearglider
Additional Source — the Quantum Courser
Reins of the Quantum Courser is a rare item that drops from Chrono-Lord Deios, the final boss of the Dawn of the Infinite megadungeon. When used, it has a chance to turn into one of 16 rare dungeon mounts — including the Cartel Master's Gearglider.
- Obtain the reins from Chrono-Lord Deios in Mythic mode
- Activate the item — it is consumed and randomly adds one of the possible mounts to your collection
- This is an additional RNG source, useful if you are farming other mounts from this list in parallel
Note: the chance of getting the Cartel Master's Gearglider specifically from the Reins of the Quantum Courser is very low, so the main path remains direct Tazavesh farming.
Minimum Requirements
- Character level — 60+
- Item level — at least 185 to enter heroic mode through the group finder
- A completed Shadowlands intro chain (up to choosing a covenant) — not formally required, but it makes navigating Oribos much easier
Farming Optimization
Optimal Classes for Skipping So'leah
In Mythic mode, So'leah has an artifact-link mechanic: she gains a 99% damage reduction until the link is broken by hitting the relics with "Hyperlight Jolts." In solo farming this makes the boss practically invulnerable, so classes with evasion abilities are recommended:
- Rogue —
Vanish lets you drop aggro and bypass mechanics - Monk —
Touch of Karma and
Paralysis make the clear easier - Hunter —
Feign Death to drop aggro
In heroic mode the boss can be cleared by a normal group with no tricks, so heroic farming is the most sensible option for hunting the mount.
Tips
Prepare a ready group in advance — with teammates who know the mechanics, a single run in heroic Tazavesh takes 15–20 minutes, and repeats are even faster
Use the 10-instances-per-hour limit wisely — take breaks between reset cycles so you don't hit a lockout. If you get kicked out of an instance after the 10th run, wait about an hour and continue
Collect the glider set in parallel — the model is reused, and while farming Tazavesh you may also randomly get the
Tazavesh Gearglider from other bosses of this dungeon
The mount is account-wide once obtained — as soon as one character loots the
Cartel Master's Gearglider, it will appear in the collection of every character on the account
Don't waste the Reins of the Quantum Courser — if you have them and you're hunting several mounts from the Quantum Courser list at once, activation gives a random chance at any of them
