Celestial Steed
Overview

Celestial Steed is a flying mount in the form of a stellar warhorse whose body is woven from constellations and elemental stardust. This mount became the first ride that Blizzard put up for sale for real money in April 2010. In the mount journal it is described as: "A beacon of hope; a guiding light in the dark."
The Celestial Steed is one of the most recognizable mounts in the history of World of Warcraft. In the first hours of sales it was bought by more than 140,000 players, and total revenue exceeded the earnings of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty.
Since January 2023 the mount was removed from the Blizzard shop and moved to the Trading Post, where it can be purchased for in-game currency.
How to Get the Celestial Steed
At the moment there is only one way to obtain this mount — through the Trading Post.
Trading Post
The Trading Post is a monthly rotation system for cosmetic items, added in patch 10.0.5. Every month the assortment is refreshed, and the Celestial Steed periodically appears among the available goods.

- Alliance: Stormwind, next to the bank
- Horde: Orgrimmar, next to Grommash Hold

Step-by-Step Guide to Obtaining It
Step 1 — Save Up Trader's Tender
Each month you can earn Trader's Tender in the following ways:
- 500 Tender is granted automatically when you visit the Trading Post at the start of a new month
- Additional Tender can be earned by completing tasks from the monthly Traveler's Log — a variety of activities: dungeons, PvP, gathering resources, completing quests, and much more
- For fully filling out the Traveler's Log you receive a bonus reward and extra Tender
To purchase the Celestial Steed you will need 900 Tender. If you collect all the available Tender each month, you can save up the required amount in 1–2 months.
Step 2 — Wait for the Mount to Appear in the Rotation
The Trading Post assortment refreshes on the first day of every month. Check the list of available items or look directly in the game.
Step 3 — Buy the Mount
- Head to the Trading Post in Stormwind or Orgrimmar
- Find the Celestial Steed in the goods catalog
- Purchase the mount for 900 Trader's Tender
- The mount will automatically appear in your collection and be available to all characters on the account
Tips
Save up Tender in advance. Even if the Celestial Steed is currently absent from the Trading Post, start accumulating Trader's Tender. When the mount returns to the rotation, you will be able to buy it right away.
Don't waste Tender on trifles. If your goal is the Celestial Steed, refrain from buying cheap cosmetic items and save the currency.
Complete the Traveler's Log fully. The maximum amount of Tender per month lets you save up the required sum faster and even acquire additional rewards.
Follow the news. Blizzard announces the Trading Post contents for the next month in advance — on the official website and on social media. That way you won't miss the return of the Celestial Steed.
Tender carries over between months. Unspent Trader's Tender is preserved — you won't lose your savings if you don't spend it in the current month.
Account-wide mount. After purchase, the Celestial Steed will be available on all current and future characters on your account — you don't need to buy it again.
