Overview

Chrono Corsair

Game iconChrono Corsair is an epic flying mount from the Infinite Dragonflight family, added in patch 11.1.7 of The War Within expansion. The mount's model is based on the boss Timecap'n Hooktail from the Tazavesh: The Veiled Market dungeon. The Chrono Corsair looks like a pirate dragon with distinctive corsair traits — a hat, an eyepatch, and tattered wings.

The mount journal reads: "This pirate of the Infinite line tore through the timeways and assembled the perfect crew of plunderers, ready to bring them a golden haul."

The mount supports both regular flight and Skyriding. It is available to every character on your account starting at level 10.

Why You Want This Mount

  • Unique pirate design — the Chrono Corsair is one of the few dragon mounts with a pirate theme. Its appearance stands out among standard flying mounts.
  • Skyriding support — the mount is fully compatible with the Skyriding system, allowing you to use it in any zone without restrictions.
  • Two ways to obtain it — you can earn the mount through an achievement during the Turbulent Timeways event or purchase it from a vendor for Timewarped Badges.
  • No reliance on luck — unlike mounts with a percentage drop chance, the Chrono Corsair is guaranteed once you meet specific conditions.
  • Account-wide — once obtained, the mount becomes available to all of your characters.

How to Obtain

There are two ways to add the Chrono Corsair to your collection.

Method 1: The Master of the Turbulent Timeways III Achievement

The mount was originally a reward for the Master of the Turbulent Timeways III achievement, available during the Turbulent Timeways event. To complete the achievement, you must earn the "Mastery of the Timeways" buff over the course of 5 weeks.

Step-by-step walkthrough:

  1. Wait for the Turbulent Timeways event to begin. The event runs during specific periods and lasts at least 5 weeks in a row.
  2. Complete any Timewalking dungeon on a character level 10 or higher. For each dungeon you receive the "Knowledge of the Timeways" buff, which stacks up to 4 times.
  3. Upon reaching 4 stacks, the buff converts into "Mastery of the Timeways" — this counts as 1 week out of 5.
  4. Repeat the procedure every week for 5 weeks. You may skip no more than one week over the entire duration of the event.
  5. After the 5th week, the achievement will be complete, and you will automatically receive the Chrono Corsair.

Important: achievement progress is tracked at the account level, so you can run dungeons on different characters.

Method 2: Purchase from a Timewalking Vendor

Starting with patch 11.2.7 (December 2025), the Chrono Corsair is available for purchase from any Timewalking vendor for 5,000 Timewarped Badges.

  1. Wait for an active Timewalking event (the regular weekly rotation or Turbulent Timeways).
  2. Accumulate 5,000 Timewarped Badges by running Timewalking dungeons.
  3. Find a Timewalking vendor in the capital of the corresponding expansion (more details in the section below).
  4. Purchase the Game iconChrono Corsair and use the item to learn the mount.

Where to Find Timewalking Vendors

Timewalking vendors are located in capitals tied to specific expansions. You can buy the Chrono Corsair from any of them while a Timewalking event is active.

Expansion Vendor Location
The Burning Crusade Cupri Shattrath, central ring
Wrath of the Lich King Auzin Dalaran (Northrend), Runeweaver Square
Cataclysm Kiatke Orgrimmar (Horde) / Stormwind (Alliance)
Mists of Pandaria Mistweaver Xia Timeless Isle, Celestial Court
Warlords of Draenor Tempra/Cronnus Stormshield (Alliance) / Warspear (Horde)
Legion Aridormi Dalaran (Broken Isles), Krasus' Landing
Battle for Azeroth Vendor in Boralus/Dazar'alor Faction capital in BfA

How to Reach the Vendor

The most convenient method is to use the portals from your faction capital (Stormwind or Orgrimmar). From there you have portals to almost every location where the vendors are found.

Quick Route

  1. Open the in-game event map (press L, the "Adventure Guide" tab) and check which expansion is currently active for Timewalking.
  2. Use the portal to the capital of the corresponding expansion from Stormwind or Orgrimmar.
  3. Find the Timewalking vendor in the indicated location.

When the Turbulent Timeways event is active, all vendors are available at the same time, so you can choose the most convenient location.

How to Earn Timewarped Badges

If you plan to purchase the Chrono Corsair from a vendor, you will need 5,000 badges. The main sources of the currency:

  • Timewalking dungeons — each run rewards you with badges. This is the primary and most reliable source.
  • Weekly quest — the task to complete 5 Timewalking dungeons grants an additional batch of badges.
  • The Turbulent Timeways event — during this period all expansions are available at the same time, which significantly speeds up accumulation.

Optimizing Badge Farming

  • Choose dungeons with fast clears. Dungeons from the Legion, Shadowlands, and Mists of Pandaria expansions are generally faster than the rest.
  • Complete the weekly quest on every character — badges are an account-wide currency.
  • During the Turbulent Timeways event, run dungeons from different expansions to advance achievements in parallel.

Tips

1

Use low-level characters for the achievement — the "Knowledge of the Timeways" and "Mastery of the Timeways" buffs are available starting at level 10. You can create a new character and run Timewalking dungeons on it.

2

The alt trick — run 4 dungeons on one character to receive the first "Mastery of the Timeways" buff. In subsequent weeks, completing just a single dungeon is enough to refresh your progress, provided you have not logged out on that character between weeks.

3

Progress is tracked at the account level — you can run dungeons on different characters. Achievement progress is cumulative.

4

Do not skip weeks — if you have chosen the achievement path, remember that skipping more than one week makes completing the achievement impossible in the current event cycle.

5

Combine your farming — by running Timewalking dungeons, you simultaneously earn Timewarped Badges and advance the achievement. Even if you do not complete the achievement, the accumulated badges will come in handy for buying the mount from a vendor.

6

Check the event calendar — Timewalking events run on a schedule. Open the in-game calendar to learn the dates of upcoming events and plan your farming ahead of time.

7

The mount binds when obtained — the item cannot be traded to another character or sold at the auction house. Acquire it on the character you plan to use it on first, although once learned it becomes available to all characters on the account.
