Coldflame Chopper — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Coldflame Chopper is a one-handed axe appearance available through the Trading Post. It is a massive chopper with a blade the color of cooled lava: dark metal threaded with glowing veins, as if living fire were frozen inside the axe. The flavor text references the smiths of the Black Iron clan: "To this day, no one knows how the smiths of the Black Iron clan forged this axe while keeping the lava in a liquid state."
Technically this is a cosmetic effect — a transmogrification illusion rather than a combat weapon. After purchase, the appearance is added to your warband's collection, and you can apply it to any suitable one-handed axe through transmogrification.
Source
The Coldflame Chopper is sold at the Trading Post for Trader's Tender. This is a currency you earn each month by completing tasks from the Traveler's Log.
- The appearance costs 200 Trader's Tender at the Trading Post.
- Tender is awarded for completing the monthly tasks from the Traveler's Log: a full set usually grants more than enough for several purchases.
- The Trading Post's stock refreshes at the start of each month, so the appearance is only available during the months when it enters the rotation.
- If the item you want is not in the current stock, you can set it aside through the "buy later" showcase or wait for its next appearance in the rotation.
- The appearance is bound to your warband and immediately becomes available to all characters on the account.
Who it suits visually
- It fits "fiery" and volcanic looks perfectly thanks to its liquid-lava-colored blade.
- It pairs well with dark plate armor and red-and-black color sets.
- It suits dwarven and infernal concepts, especially those referencing the Black Iron clan.
- It creates a striking contrast when paired with a light or silvery shield, highlighting the axe's glow.
Tips
The appearance can be applied to any one-handed axe — the stats of the base weapon are preserved.
Save up Trader's Tender in advance: 200 is less than half a month's supply, so there will be enough left for other purchases.
Keep an eye on the monthly Trading Post refresh so you don't miss the month when the chopper goes on sale again.
Use the deferred-purchase option in the showcase if you don't have enough Tender yet — your chosen item will be reserved for you.
After purchase, the illusion stays in your collection forever and is available to all characters on the account.
The chopper looks especially impressive on melee classes that wield dual axes — the glow is duplicated on both hands.
