Coldrage Dagger — Transmog Set Guide

Coldrage Dagger is a one-handed dagger of rare quality that appeared in World of Warcraft back in the original Classic version of the game. It is a collectible transmog appearance from the early era of Azeroth: the blade looks as if it was carved from a solid block of ice, and a swirl of fading snowflakes spins around the edge in combat. The cold color palette and angular silhouette make it one of the most recognizable "frosty" daggers in low-level content.

The dagger belongs to the category of weapons available to every class that uses daggers — rogues, druids, priests, mages, warlocks and shamans. On modern servers it is in demand precisely as a transmog element: the model is simple but recognizable, and it fits well into sets with a wintry or necromantic theme.

Beyond its looks, the dagger also has a combat trait — on melee strikes the blade has a chance to launch an icy bolt at the enemy, dealing frost magic damage and slowing the target for 5 seconds. For transmog farming this is not essential, but it adds character to the item.

Coldrage Dagger drops from the final boss of the Razorfen Downs dungeon — Amnennar the Coldbringer. This is the only reliable source of the item, so all farming comes down to repeated runs through this dungeon.

Where the dungeon is located. Razorfen Downs sits in the north of the Thousand Needles zone. The instance entrance is shaped like the skull of a giant quilboar next to the meeting stone. Without a flying mount, the easiest way in is through that skull.

Who Amnennar the Coldbringer is. He is an elite lich, the leader of the Deathshead tribe — undead quilboar who joined the Scourge. The boss stands atop the Spiral of Thorns in the far part of the dungeon and is the last opponent on the route.

Key farming details:

• Difficulty — a normal 5-player dungeon designed for levels 36–42. It poses no threat whatsoever to a modern max-level character.
• The drop chance of the dagger from Amnennar the Coldbringer is around 20 percent, meaning on average the item drops once every five runs.
• There is no limit on the number of attempts: the dungeon can be re-entered without a weekly cap, you only wait for the instance to reset.
• The farm is done solo — no group is needed for it.

Boss tactics. During the fight Amnennar summons several groups of icy spirits. At modern levels they can be completely ignored: the spirits disappear on their own as soon as the boss dies. It is enough to quickly focus damage on the lich himself.

• Suits sets with a wintry and frosty theme — the blade's look echoes icy armor and cloaks in a blue palette.
• Harmonizes with frost-spec mage transmogs — the dagger reinforces the image of a caster wielding the element of cold.
• Looks great in necromantic and Scourge-related outfits — the item's lore directly references the undead of Razorfen Downs.
• Contrasts with a rogue's dark leather armor — the icy blade gives a bright color accent on a grim set.
• Fitting in low-level "vintage" Classic-era builds, where a recognizable old weapon model is valued.
