Overview

Conqueror's Scythemaw

Game iconConqueror's Scythemaw is an epic ground mount from the krolusk family, added to the game in patch 8.0.1 Battle for Azeroth. It is a massive armored creature of green coloration, whose battle-hardened carapace can deflect even the heaviest hammer or the sharpest spear.

In-game description: «The hardened shell of this mighty animal can withstand a blow from the heaviest hammer and the sharpest spear».

The mount is awarded for completing the meta-achievement Conqueror of Azeroth. Along with the mount, you receive the title «Conqueror of Azeroth». The achievement requires active participation in world PvP with War Mode enabled.

Why You Should Get This Mount

The Conqueror's Scythemaw is one of the few krolusks available through achievements. Unlike most krolusks, which are bought with reputation or gold, this mount certifies experience in world PvP. The green coloration is unique to this model. Other variants (azure, obsidian, pearlescent, ruby) are obtained by other means.

The achievement remains available even after Battle for Azeroth has concluded. However, with the main flow of players leaving the BfA zones, farming has become noticeably longer — you will less often encounter opponents with War Mode enabled. So the sooner you start, the easier it will be to complete all the stages.

Requirements for Obtaining It

  • A character of level 1 - 90
  • The riding skill «Apprentice Riding»
  • War Mode enabled
  • Completion of all 9 sub-achievements of the «Conqueror of Azeroth» meta-achievement

The achievement is account-wide — progress is credited from any character.

The «Conqueror of Azeroth» Meta-Achievement

The achievement Conqueror of Azeroth consists of 9 sub-achievements. All of them are completed in the open world of the Battle for Azeroth zones with War Mode enabled.

«Patrol» Achievements — Earn 1000 Honor in Each Zone

Achievement Zone Requirement
Patrol: Nazmir Nazmir 1000 honor
Patrol: Vol'dun Vol'dun 1000 honor
Patrol: Zuldazar Zuldazar 1000 honor
Patrol: Tiragarde Sound Tiragarde Sound 1000 honor
Patrol: Stormsong Valley Stormsong Valley 1000 honor
Patrol: Drustvar Drustvar 1000 honor

Special PvP Achievements

Achievement Requirement
Band of Brothers Complete PvP quests in a group of 2–5 players
Frontline Delivery Open an air-dropped crate of war supplies in War Mode
Bounty Hunter Collect 10 player bounties in War Mode

Step-by-Step Plan to Obtain the Mount

  1. Enable War Mode. Open the talents window (default key N) in your faction's capital — Orgrimmar or Stormwind. Activate the «War Mode» toggle in the bottom right corner. War Mode grants a 10% bonus to experience and gold, and also unlocks PvP talents.

  2. Start with the «Patrol» achievements. Head into the Battle for Azeroth zones and earn honor by killing players of the opposing faction. You need 1000 honor in each of the six zones. Honor is awarded for honorable kills — killing players of your level or higher.

  3. Complete «Band of Brothers». Gather a group of 2–5 players and complete PvP quests in War Mode.

  4. Complete «Frontline Delivery». From time to time, a helicopter appears in the BfA zones, dropping a crate of war supplies. Grab it first — the achievement is credited for a single opening. The crates are marked on the minimap with a special icon.

  5. Complete «Bounty Hunter». Kill 10 players who have a bounty on their head. A bounty appears on a player who has killed enough opponents in a row without dying — such a player gains the status «Slayer of the Alliance» or «Slayer of the Horde» and is marked on the map.

  6. Obtain the mount. Once all 9 achievements are complete, the «Conqueror of Azeroth» meta-achievement activates automatically. The mount and title will appear in your collection.

Tips for Efficient Farming

  • Choose times of high activity. The most players in the BfA zones can be found during world quests and weekly events. Check whether there is an active weekly PvP bonus.

  • Team up in a group. Farming honor in a group of 2–5 people is not only safer, but also simultaneously counts progress toward the «Band of Brothers» achievement.

  • Watch for supply drops. War supply crates drop randomly, but the approaching helicopter is announced by the distinctive roar of its engine.

  • Look for players with bounties. Faction slayers are marked on the map with a special icon. Hunt them in a group — solo targets with the +15% damage and healing buff are dangerous to face alone.

  • Use all zones on both continents. Honor counts in both the Zandalar zones (Nazmir, Vol'dun, Zuldazar) and the Kul Tiras zones (Drustvar, Stormsong Valley, Tiragarde Sound). Switch between them depending on where there is more activity.

  • Consider your character's level. Although the zones scale, a well-geared character will manage faster. If you are farming at max level, kills will go significantly faster.

  • Progress is account-wide. As of patch 8.3.0, the meta-achievement progress became shared across all characters on the account. You can farm honor in Nazmir on one character and in Drustvar on another.

Other Krolusks in the Game

If you like the krolusk model, other variants are available in the game:

Mount How to Obtain
Azurescale Krolusk Provisioner Mukra (Brittlebark)
Obsidian Krolusk «Glory of the Wartime Hero» meta-achievement
Pearlescent Krolusk Victory over Urmag
Rubyscale Krolusk Provisioner Mukra

The Conqueror's Scythemaw remains the only krolusk obtained for a PvP achievement, which makes it especially valuable to collectors.
