Overview

Jeweled Copper Scarab

Game iconJeweled Copper Scarab is a massive scarab beetle with a coppery-golden shell and inlaid gemstones, designed in the aesthetic of the desert realms — a nod to the ancient qiraji and the culture of the Knot. The crystal is sold at the Trading Post, the monthly shop of cosmetic rewards added in patch 10.0.5. The mount first appeared in the shop's lineup in January 2024, after which it returned to rotation in January 2025 and in February 2026. The purchase is made with the Trader's Tender currency.

Why you want this mount

  • A unique scarab model — a large beetle with copper scales and jeweled trim, sharply different from the classic stone and jade scarabs from Ahn'Qiraj. The mount keeps detailed legs and wings, which look great in flight
  • A versatile movement type — the mount works both as a ground mount (+60% or +100% speed) and as a flying mount (+150%, +280% or +310%). A single scarab covers both roles in your collection
  • Available account-wide — after the first purchase the mount is unlocked on every character on the account, regardless of faction, race and class
  • Pure cosmetics with no raids — obtaining it does not require farming raids or dungeons, nor catching rare loot. You only need to save up tender and visit the shop in the right month
  • Part of the resonating crystal family — together with the Game iconGolden Regal Scarab it forms a pair of Trading Post scarabs, which lets you assemble a themed set

How to obtain

The only path to the mount is purchasing the Game iconCopper Resonating Crystal at the Trading Post during a month when the item is included in the lineup.

  1. Wait for the month when the Game iconCopper Resonating Crystal appears in the Trading Post rotation. The lineup announcement is published in the news section of the official World of Warcraft website in the final days of the previous month
  2. Save up the required amount of Trader's Tender. The price varies by season: 800 tender on its first appearance (January 2024), 500 tender in February 2026
  3. Head to a vendor in one of the capitals: Orgrimmar, Stormwind or Silvermoon. Vendors are also available in Dornogal, Valdrakken and Boralus
  4. Open the shop window, select the tab with the current month's lineup and purchase the Game iconCopper Resonating Crystal
  5. Use the item — it will teach your character the Game iconJeweled Copper Scarab spell, which will appear in your mount journal

The Trading Post and Trader's Tender

The Trading Post is a monthly cosmetic shop system that requires no real money. All purchases are made with the in-game currency Trader's Tender, which can only be earned through gameplay.

Source of tender How much it gives Frequency
Collector's Chest (visiting the shop) 500 tender Once a month
Traveler's Log (full completion) 500 tender Once a month
Bonus tasks in extra months up to 500 extra Situational
Carryover between months no limit Tender does not expire

In total an active player earns around 1000 tender a month, which lets you save up for the mount in one or two months, even if the crystal does not appear right away.

Traveler's Log — how to earn 500 tender

The Traveler's Log opens in the Adventure Guide tab (hotkey Shift+J). Each month you are offered a set of tasks covering all of the game's content.

  1. Open the Adventure Guide and switch to the "Traveler's Log" tab
  2. Study the list of monthly tasks: they include killing raid bosses, winning battlegrounds, completing Mythic+ dungeons, gathering resources, taking part in holidays and much more
  3. Complete any tasks of your choice — to earn the 500 tender you do not need to close the entire list, it is enough to reach a certain amount of progress points
  4. The tender is credited to the Collector's Chest at progress thresholds. Claim it through the shop interface
  5. Do not forget to visit the shop on the first of the month — this automatically grants another 500 tender from the Collector's Chest

The fastest log tasks

  • Winning a Mythic+ dungeon of any level
  • Completing a few daily quests in current zones
  • Taking part in seasonal events (in-game calendar holidays)
  • Winning a pet battle against an NPC tamer
  • Using emotes on specific NPCs — a one-second task for easy points

Optimizing tender farming

Preparing for the right month

Since the Game iconCopper Resonating Crystal does not appear every month, it is wiser to build up a buffer of tender in advance. A minimum reserve of 800 tender lets you buy the mount the moment it appears in the lineup, regardless of the current log.

  1. Complete the Traveler's Log every month regardless of the lineup
  2. Do not spend tender on small items if you are saving up for an expensive mount
  3. Subscribe to news sources — the announcement of the next month usually appears 5–7 days ahead

Using alts

Unlike loot bags, Trader's Tender is account-bound: additional characters do not give extra tender from the Collector's Chest. However, active alts help you close log tasks faster, since some of them are tied to different classes or specializations.

  • An alt is handy for farming specific tasks (for example, fishing, professions)
  • Log progress is shared between characters on one account
  • One account = one pool of tender

Tips

1

Visit the Trading Post on the first of every month — this triggers the automatic award of 500 tender into the Collector's Chest.

2

Keep your old tender — Trader's Tender does not expire between seasons, so accumulated funds stay with you. A minimum buffer of 800 tender covers any crystal price

3

Follow the announcements — the list of next month's goods is usually published in the final days of the current month. This gives you time to save up the missing tender

4

Do not miss the rotation — 6–12 months may pass between the crystal's appearances. January 2024 was the first publication, then January 2025 and February 2026. If the current month's lineup does not contain the mount, check every following one

5

The mount cannot be resold — the crystal and the mount itself are bound to the account. Buying it on the auction house or from another player is impossible; the only path is the Trading Post
