Coralscale Salamanther

Coralscale Salamanther is an epic ground mount added in patch 10.2.6 of the Dragonflight expansion. It is a pink aquatic variety of salamanther that settled along the coasts of the Dragon Isles after the storms of Raszageth subsided. The mount is awarded as a reward for the Into the Storm meta-achievement, tied to the open-world Primal Storms events.

The Coralscale Salamanther features a unique coral coloration with pink and turquoise tones. The character rides on the creature's back, while the salamanther moves with its characteristic lizard-like gait. The mount is ground-only — it cannot fly or swim.

• Guaranteed acquisition — the mount is awarded for completing an achievement, not for a random drop. If you complete all the sub-achievements, the Coralscale Salamanther is yours.
• Unique model — the pink coral coloration sets this mount apart from other salamanthers. Similar models (Awakened Salamanther, Stormhide Salamanther) have completely different color schemes.
• Available to all characters — once obtained, the mount is bound to your account and appears in the mount journal of all your characters.
• Earning a meta-achievement — Into the Storm is a meta-achievement that marks an important milestone in your Dragonflight progress.

The mount is awarded for completing the Into the Storm meta-achievement. This achievement requires completing four sub-achievements tied to the Primal Storms in the Dragon Isles.

What are Primal Storms

Primal Storms are open-world events that occur every three hours in the four main zones of the Dragon Isles: The Waking Shores, Ohn'ahran Plains, The Azure Span, and Thaldraszus. Storms last two hours, followed by a one-hour break. There are four types of storms: thunderstorms, sandstorms, firestorms, and snowstorms.

During a storm, empowered elemental enemies, rare mobs, and chests appear in the zone. Killing enemies grants you the Elemental Overflow currency.

Sub-achievement 1: Storm Chaser

The Storm Chaser achievement is the most extensive of the four. It requires killing 200 elementally-infused enemies in each of the four storm types in each of the four zones. That makes 16 sub-achievements in total (4 zones x 4 storm types).

Approximate list:

• Thunderstorms, sandstorms, firestorms, and snowstorms in The Waking Shores
• Thunderstorms, sandstorms, firestorms, and snowstorms in Ohn'ahran Plains
• Thunderstorms, sandstorms, firestorms, and snowstorms in The Azure Span
• Thunderstorms, sandstorms, firestorms, and snowstorms in Thaldraszus

This is the most time-consuming part. Storms appear randomly, and you cannot control which type of storm will arise in a specific zone.

Sub-achievement 2: Stormed Off

The Stormed Off achievement requires killing 8 of the 18 special rare enemies that appear during Primal Storms. Among them: Infernora, Vaeloron, Nyrah the Flame's Fury, Zurgaz Corebreaker, and others. These enemies are marked with special markers on the map during active storms.

Sub-achievement 3: Elemental Overload

The Elemental Overload achievement is for collecting 5,000 units of Elemental Overflow:

Elemental Overflow accumulates naturally while participating in storms. Kill empowered enemies, open chests, and complete daily quests during active events.

Sub-achievement 4: Stormageddon

Stormageddon requires purchasing a set of armor from Mithra, an elemental researcher's apprentice. Mithra is found in the Sapphire Enclave in Valdrakken (/way 38.2 37.6) or in the Morqut Village on the Forbidden Reach. A full armor set costs about 3,150 Elemental Overflow, although set pieces can also be obtained from empowered storm enemies on the Forbidden Reach.

To check your achievement progress, open the achievement panel (Y key by default) and find Into the Storm in the "Dragonflight" section. Each of the four sub-achievements is displayed with its own progress bar.

To track active storms, use the in-game world map — active Primal Storms are marked with special icons on the map of the corresponding zone. You can also check the storm schedule on the "WoW Today" page on the Wowhead website.
