Corruption of the Aspects

Corruption of the Aspects is a dragon mount from patch 11.1.5 of The War Within expansion. It is a corrupted version of the Heart of the Aspects, rendered in dark chromatic tones with a turquoise glow of Void energy. The mount adapts to your riding skill and current location — it works as both a ground and flying mount. According to the lore, the mount embodies N'Zoth's triumph and the final fall of the dragon Aspects.

• It is a corrupted version of the iconic Heart of the Aspects mount, but with a completely different color scheme
• Available without any random element — you are guaranteed to get the mount once you have saved up enough currency
• The matching battle pet Scourge of the Aspects is sold by the same vendor and is rendered in the same style
• The mount is both a ground and a flying mount — it adapts to your riding skill

Corruption of the Aspects is purchased from the vendor Torie (also known as Toridormi — a bronze dragon in human form) for the currency Displaced Corrupted Mementos.

• A character of level 10 or higher
• Apprentice riding skill (for ground riding) or Expert riding skill (for flying)
• Save up 40,000 Displaced Corrupted Mementos — a currency earned in Horrific Visions
• No additional achievements are required for the purchase (the requirement for the "We Have the Memories" achievement was removed in a hotfix)

1. Head to Dornogal — the capital of Khaz Algar in The War Within expansion
2. Find the Horrific Visions hub — it is located south of the Ringing Deeps district area
3. Use the coordinates: /way Dornogal 34.33 69.46 Torie
4. Torie is located next to the portal to the Horrific Visions and other hub NPCs
5. Open the vendor window and find Corruption of the Aspects in the list of goods

Step 1: Unlock Access to Horrific Visions

Horrific Visions is reworked content from patch 8.3 (Battle for Azeroth) that returned in patch 11.1.5 of The War Within. You will be running corrupted versions of Stormwind and Orgrimmar.

Step 2: Run Horrific Visions and Farm Currency

Displaced Corrupted Mementos drop from monsters, chests, and from completing objectives inside Horrific Visions. The amount of currency you earn depends on:

• Clearing side zones — the more objectives you complete, the more currency you receive
• Faceless Masks — each active mask increases the reward by 20%. All 8 masks grant a +140% currency bonus
• Collecting odd crystals — 10 crystals are scattered throughout each vision and can be turned in to the NPC Zar'aahl

Step 3: Buy the Mount from Torie

Once you have saved up 40,000 Displaced Corrupted Mementos, return to Torie in Dornogal and purchase Corruption of the Aspects.

Optimal Number of Masks

For efficient farming, it is recommended to activate 2–4 masks. This is the optimal balance between clear speed and the currency bonus. Activating 5+ masks slows down the run and increases the risk of failure, which is not worthwhile for farming purposes.

Clearing Strategy

• Clear all side zones — they provide a substantial boost to currency
• Collect all 10 odd crystals — turning in 10 crystals at once yields 425 Mementos (instead of 200 if turned in one at a time)
• Open all chests inside the visions
• Focus on objectives rather than killing every monster — this saves time

How Long It Will Take

The exact amount of Displaced Corrupted Mementos per run depends on the number of masks, cleared zones, and collected crystals. With active farming using 2–4 masks and a full clear, you can expect several thousand Mementos per run. At this pace, accumulating 40,000 will take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks of active farming.

Farming on Alts

The Displaced Corrupted Mementos currency is character-bound. If you want to speed up the process, farm on your main character — switching between alts will not help you accumulate the currency for a single purchase.

In addition to Corruption of the Aspects, the following can be purchased from Torie:

• Battle pet Scourge of the Aspects — from 5,000 Displaced Corrupted Mementos
• Cosmetic cloaks — from 400 to 5,000 Displaced Corrupted Mementos
• Cosmetic armor (cloth, leather, mail, plate) — from 200 to 600 Displaced Corrupted Mementos per item
• Various returning items from the original Horrific Visions of patch 8.3

• Class is not critical. Horrific Visions can be completed on any class and specialization. However, classes with good survivability and AoE damage (demon hunter, death knight, druid) can clear faster.
• Start small. If you are entering Horrific Visions for the first time, start without masks to learn the routes and mechanics. Gradually add masks as your confidence grows.
• Don't ignore the odd crystals. Turning in all 10 crystals at once yields 425 Displaced Corrupted Mementos — a noticeable addition to your overall farm.
• Keep an eye on the weekly loot. Rewards from Horrific Visions have a weekly limit, but you can farm the currency itself without restrictions — run as many clears as you like.
• Collect transmog along the way. While saving up for the mount, pay attention to the cosmetic items at Torie — many of them cost significantly less and will enhance your collection.
