Overview

Жезл полумесяца

Game iconCrescent Wand is a one-handed ranged wand of epic (purple) quality. In a character's hands this light caster weapon deals Arcane damage and looks like an elegant capped staff in a nightborne aesthetic: a distinctive "crescent" curve and a cool blue-purple palette.

The model belongs to a family of wands with a clear night elf motif, so the item looks expensive and "magical" even with a minimum of detail. It suits all classes that wield wands — mages, warlocks, and priests — and reads well as an accent for robes and cloth sets.

The item appeared in the Cataclysm expansion and is tied to that add-on's final story arc — journeys through time, where heroes defended the course of Azeroth's history.

Source

The Crescent Wand is a reward for the Archival Purposes quest, which is given by Alurmi inside the End Time dungeon.

How to get it:

  • Enter the Heroic End Time dungeon — one of the dungeons of the final Cataclysm patch.
  • Pick up the "Archival Purposes" quest from Alurmi. The task requires you to destroy two echoes inside the dungeon and let Alurmi's vessel preserve the information about them.
  • After turning in the quest, choose a reward. The Crescent Wand is one of the options to choose from.

An important point for appearance collectors: the quest offers a choice of reward, and a single run grants you only one item from the list. To gather several appearances from this task at once, you will have to complete it on different characters or repeat it, if the game allows that in your version.

The dungeon belongs to outdated content, so it is cleared solo with ease: a character of the current level destroys the local enemies quickly, and the quest itself does not require a group.

Who It Suits Visually

  • Caster looks in a blue-purple range: the wand supports a "lunar" and arcane-magic theme.
  • Mage and warlock outfits on cloth robes: the elegant cap does not clash with bulky shoulders and hoods.
  • Priest looks in cool tones: it suits silvery-blue sets.
  • Night elf and nightborne concepts: the model directly references this aesthetic.
  • Contrast with dark, "shadowy" builds: the light curve of the wand works as a bright accent.

Tips

1

Take the quest specifically from Alurmi inside the End Time dungeon — without turning in the task you cannot get the wand.

2

Decide in advance which reward to choose: a single run gives access to only one item from the list.

3

Run the dungeon at the current level solo — old content does not require a group and is killed quickly.

4

If you are collecting both the weapon and the gloves from this quest, plan additional runs or completion on other characters.

5

The wand suits mages, warlocks, and priests equally — you can lock in the appearance on any of these classes.

6

For a cohesive look, pair the wand with cloth armor in a cool blue-purple palette.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
