Crypt Fiend Slayer — Transmog Set Guide

Crypt Fiend Slayer is an epic bow added to World of Warcraft in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. The model stands out with its cold, icy-blue glow and carved bone elements in the style of the Scourge: the string and tips look as if veiled in a frosty haze, and the stave itself resembles a curved bone. It is precisely this recognizable silhouette that has long made the bow one of hunters' favorite transmogs.

This is a ranged weapon, so it suits hunters and is also used as a cosmetic item in an appearance collection. The item level is irrelevant here — the gear is long outdated in terms of stats, and the bow's value is purely visual.

The bow drops in the Halls of Reflection dungeon — the final part of the Frozen Halls complex in Icecrown Citadel.

• The end of the dungeon is an escape from The Lich King: you cannot kill him, you have to fight your way to the ship while fending off waves of Scourge minions.
• After a successful escape, the loot lies in the The Captain's Chest object on the ship's deck.
• The Crypt Fiend Slayer is part of the dungeon's regular loot table.
• The drop chance, according to various player estimates, is roughly 12–18%, so the bow usually drops within a few runs, though sometimes you have to repeat the run more than once.
• There is no limit on the number of attempts — the dungeon can be run as many times a day as you like, which makes farming easier.

The easiest way to get into the dungeon is through the Dungeon Finder: it is matched at the appropriate level with no additional requirements. The physical entrance is located in the southern part of Icecrown, on the side of Icecrown Citadel — it is the middle door among the three entrances to the Frozen Halls.

At the maximum level of 90, the dungeon is soloable without any trouble on any class: the entire sequence, including the escape from the Lich King, is killed and run through solo in a matter of minutes.

• The cold, icy-blue palette harmonizes with sets themed around the Scourge and undead — for example, with the dark-steel and icy armor sets from Icecrown Citadel.
• It looks good with silvery-blue leather and mail armor, where you want to emphasize the weapon's "magical" accent.
