Crystalline Kopesh — Transmog Set Guide

Crystalline Kopesh is a rare one-handed sword added in The Burning Crusade. The blade is rendered in a cold blue-turquoise palette: the broad edge looks as though it was carved from a single piece of bluish crystal, while the guard resembles a faceted shard of ice. The sword has a massive, slightly curved silhouette that nods to its name — the ancient Egyptian sickle-shaped blade, the "khopesh."

In terms of stats, the item is geared toward melee combat with an emphasis on strength and stamina, so in collections it most often turns up among warriors and death knights. For transmogrification only the model matters — and it is prized precisely for that icy hue, which is rarely repeated among swords of the same era.

The Crystalline Kopesh is given as a reward for the quest "WANTED: Durn the Hungerer" in Nagrand. This is a bulletin board quest available to both factions, so you can collect the blade on any character.

• The quest is picked up from the warden in your faction's settlement in Nagrand: for the Horde it is given by Warden Bullroar in Garadar, and for the Alliance by Warden Moi'bff Jill in Telaar.
• The goal is to kill Durn the Hungerer, a huge giant who slowly patrols the Spirit Fields around the sacred mountain of Oshu'gun in the southwest of the zone. The approximate center of his route is around /way 35 70.
• Durn is a normal (non-elite) giant, but with a large health pool. At max level he goes down in a few hits; back when the content was current it was noticeably easier to take him on with a partner or a small group.
• The reward is a choice of three weapon types, so you must pick the Crystalline Kopesh right away when turning in — the quest cannot be turned in again, as it is one-time per character.
• The item becomes soulbound on pickup, so you won't be able to mail it to another character — complete the quest on the hero who actually needs the transmog.

• It harmonizes with blue and silvery-white outfits — for example, plate sets with an "icy" or "arctic" theme.
• It looks great in frost death knight looks thanks to the matching color scheme of the blade and the runic magic.
• It contrasts with dark leather or black plate armor, working as a bright accent in the hand.
• It suits magical and "elemental" concepts where you need a sword that looks like a frozen shard of ice or crystal.
