Get Cudgel of Consecration
Overview

Cudgel of Consecration is an epic one-handed mace from The Burning Crusade expansion. It is a caster weapon: it provides Intellect, spell power and carries a colorless socket for a gem, which is why it was historically intended for priests, paladins and shamans who heal and cast magic. The model is done in a noble, light palette with holy motifs, which ties in nicely with its name and the imagery of the servants of the Light.
In the modern game the mace's stats have long been irrelevant — it is valued purely as transmog. It is a convenient choice for light, "holy" looks for healers and casters who wield one-handed maces.
Source
The mace drops in the Magisters' Terrace dungeon — a Burning Crusade dungeon on the Isle of Quel'Danas.
- The source is the dungeon's final boss, Kael'thas Sunstrider, whom you kill at the end of the run.
- The boss's epic loot drops on the dungeon's Heroic difficulty.
- The mace's drop chance is around 13%, so it usually comes within a few runs, but sometimes you'll need to repeat the run more than once.
- The limit is one Heroic dungeon run per day per character due to the lockout, so with bad luck the farm drags on; you can speed it up by going in on several characters.
The Kael'thas fight is multi-phased: in the second phase he tosses the whole group into the air and summons phoenixes. At max level 90 none of this poses a threat — the boss is killed solo in mere seconds, and the mechanics never get a chance to trigger.
Who It Suits Visually
- Ideal for Light healer looks: priests and paladins in white and gold armor, where the weapon should emphasize the holy theme.
- Pairs well with light cloth and plate sets in white-and-gold tones from the Burning Crusade era and elven sets.
- Suits a healing shaman for a look that emphasizes "pure" magic rather than elemental fury.
- Contrasts with dark shadow sets — a debatable but expressive choice for a "light in the dark" look.
Tips
Farming the mace is easiest solo at max level: the entire run through Magisters' Terrace, including Kael'thas, takes a few minutes.
Keep the Heroic dungeon's daily lockout in mind: only one run per day is available per character, so use alts to speed things up.
Don't waste time on Kael'thas's phase mechanics — at the current level he dies before he even manages to toss the group into the air.
If the mace doesn't drop for several days in a row, that's normal at a roughly 13% chance — keep repeating the runs.
Alongside the mace, other collectible Burning Crusade-era transmog drops from the boss and the dungeon, so you can combine the farm with hunting for other appearances.
Once you get the appearance, unlock it in your collection: after that the mace becomes available for transmogrification on all account characters who wield one-handed maces.
