Brown Riding Camel
Overview

Brown Riding Camel is a ground mount added to World of Warcraft in the Cataclysm expansion (patch 4.0.3). The mount is a sturdy desert camel in rich harness, fitting the style of the tol'vir culture of Uldum.
The camel is purchased from the Ramkahen faction quartermaster for 100 gold once you reach Exalted standing. It is a steady, predictable way to expand your collection — no RNG, just a reputation grind.
Why You Want This Mount
- Guaranteed acquisition — unlike the rare
Grey Riding Camel, which drops from the rare Dormus the Camel-Hoarder with a tiny chance, the brown variant is awarded for reputation and does not depend on luck - A unique model — camels are rare in the game, and the Ramkahen faction collection includes three colors: brown, tan and grey. Each adds variety to your collection
- Progress toward meta-achievements — the mount counts toward general collector achievements
- Reputation along the way — while grinding Exalted with Ramkahen you also gain access to other faction rewards: the tabard, item enhancements and a second
Tan Riding Camel for the same 100 gold - All from one source — by grinding reputation once, you unlock two of the three mounts in the Uldum camel collection at once
How to Get the Mount
- Head to Uldum.
- Complete the introductory Uldum story chain. It starts in the Eastern Kingdoms with Harrison Jones and quickly brings you into the desert. The storyline automatically grants most of the "Friendly" reputation and unlocks access to the tabard
- Buy the
Tabard of Ramkahen from Blacksmith Abasi in the city of Ramkahen (coordinates 54.1, 33.3). The tabard is sold at Friendly standing and costs 1 gold - Grind reputation up to Exalted using any of the methods below
- Return to Blacksmith Abasi and purchase the
Reins of the Brown Riding Camel for 100 gold
Where to Find the Vendor
The city of Ramkahen is located in the central part of Uldum. Blacksmith Abasi stands next to the forge in the settlement's central square. Use the command for a quick waypoint:
If you fly in from the Uldum flight master, the blacksmith is just a few steps south of the landing point.
How to Quickly Farm Ramkahen Reputation
There are three working methods for gaining reputation. The most efficient in 2026 is farming dungeons in the tabard.
Dungeon Farming in the Tabard of Ramkahen
The equipped
Tabard of Ramkahen grants reputation for killing enemies in any dungeon.
- Equip the tabard before entering the dungeon
- Best options for solo farming at max level:
- Lost City of the Tol'vir — a short route with lots of mobs
- Halls of Origination — you can skip some of the bosses
- Grim Batol — longer, but densely packed with enemies
- At max level any dungeon clears solo in a few minutes
- Exit and re-enter — the boss lockout does not interfere with gaining reputation from regular enemies
The Uldum Storyline
Completing the entire Uldum quest chain means reaching roughly "Honored" with the faction. This step is mandatory not even for the reputation, but for access to the tabard and unlocking the vendor. All the quests are marked with exclamation marks on the zone map.
Farming Optimization
How Long Until the Camel
The path from "Neutral" to "Exalted" is 42,000 reputation points. Average benchmarks:
| Method | Reputation per hour | Hours to Exalted |
|---|---|---|
| Uldum story quests | — | gives ~12,000 (up to Honored) |
| Dungeon farming in the tabard | 4,000–6,000 | 5–7 hours from Honored |
| Daily quests | 400/day | 50+ days |
The optimal strategy: complete the full Uldum storyline, then farm the remainder in dungeons. In total, obtaining the mount fits into 1–2 gaming evenings.
Farming on Alts
Ramkahen reputation is tied to the character, not the account. However, a mount obtained by one alt automatically becomes available to your entire collection. So there is no point in farming reputation on multiple characters — one is enough.
Collecting Camels in Parallel
Once you reach "Exalted", don't forget to immediately buy the faction's second mount as well. It costs another 100 gold and differs only in color. One trip to the vendor — two mounts for your collection.
Tips
1
Combine it with other goals in Uldum — while you farm dungeons in the tabard, you also close out clear achievements and may pick up transmog items from bosses
2
Check which tabard is equipped — when moving between dungeons it's easy to forget to swap your gear.
3
Heroic difficulty gives no more reputation than normal — pick the dungeon you clear the fastest, difficulty doesn't matter
4
Bring a supply of speed potions — in solo runs through old dungeons, most of the time is spent running between packs of mobs
5
The mount is account-wide once obtained — a mount acquired on one character appears in the collection of all characters on the account, of either faction
