Deadly Blunderbuss — Transmog Set Guide

Overview

Смертоносный мушкетон

The Game iconDeadly Blunderbuss is a ranged firearm — a gun with a short, wide muzzle and a rough wooden stock. The model belongs to the early Engineering creations and looks like a classic pirate blunderbuss: a massive barrel, plain finish, minimal metal. By modern appearance standards it is a recognizable muzzle-loader that is hard to confuse with the later, finely machined rifles.

The item has uncommon quality, dates back to the original game, and remains available today — any Engineer can craft it at any moment. The look suits Hunters and any class that wears a firearm in the ranged slot for transmog.

It uses the same rough gun model as several other early Engineering pieces, so when assembling an appearance collection it is convenient to go by the shape of the barrel rather than the icon.

The Deadly Blunderbuss cannot be looted from a mob or bought from a vendor — it is crafted with the Engineering profession.

  • The recipe is learned from an Engineering trainer upon reaching 105 skill.
  • The cost to learn the recipe is 12 silver 50 copper.
  • Crafting requires a Blacksmith Hammer and a Gyromatic Micro-Adjustor (with an anvil nearby).

Reagents:

Who It Suits Visually

  • Fits "pirate" and "corsair" sets — the wide muzzle of the barrel echoes the image of a sea raider.
  • Harmonizes with leather sets in earthy, brown, and ochre tones thanks to the massive wooden stock.
  • Looks great in a "dwarven" Engineering theme, where rough, handcrafted weapon finishes are valued.
  • Contrasts with light elven and high-tech sets — for those, finely machined rifles work better than this blunderbuss.

Tips

1

If your character does not have Engineering, it is easier to create the look on an Engineer alt: the item binds when equipped, but to unlock the transmog it is enough to craft it and equip it once.

2

Level your skill to at least 105 in advance — the recipe is sold by the trainer and does not require hunting for a rare schematic.

3

Stock up on bronze bars before crafting: each tube uses bronze, and you need four tubes.

4

The same icon and a similar model appear on other early firearms, so while you are at it, it is worth crafting the Lovingly Crafted Boomstick to expand your appearance collection.

5

Crafting the weapon grants Engineering skill-ups, so it is convenient to combine the craft with leveling the profession in the range of around 105–125.

6

Once unlocked, the look is available to every character on the account that can wear a firearm in the ranged slot.
