Deathbinder's Staff — Transmog Set Guide

Deathbinder's Staff is a two-handed staff of blue (rare) quality with item level 155, added to World of Warcraft in the Shadowlands expansion. The weapon suits any class that wields staves: priests, mages, warlocks, shamans, druids, and monks. Visually it is a dark bone staff topped with woven roots and a knot of dark energy — the model nods to the Drust, an ancient race of vrykul witch-necromancers from Drustvar in the Battle for Azeroth expansion, whose themes of death and corruption carried over into Ardenweald.

The staff is prized for its grim, necromantic silhouette without flashy effects: it fits equally well in a gothic look or in a set built around a dark priest or warlock. It is easy to obtain solo, which makes the staff a convenient target for transmog collectors.

The staff drops from the rare enemy Deathbinder Hroth — a Drust you can encounter in Ardenweald, the third zone of Shadowlands.

• Hroth appears in the Tirna Vaal area, by the sacrificial altar in the northern part of the subzone.
• Approximate spawn coordinates are around 35, 68.
• This is a field rare rather than a dungeon boss: he stands in the open world and is available as soon as you unlock Ardenweald.
• The staff's drop chance is around 16%, so several kills are usually needed.
• Respawning the rare takes time, so after an unlucky drop you will have to either wait or hop onto other characters.

You do not need to assemble a group to kill him: at the current Midnight max level he can be defeated solo. Keep in mind that Hroth hits noticeably hard and uses area shadow abilities, so a character with a low health pool should play more carefully.
