Overview

Гнилой лук обманщика

Game iconDeceiver's Rotbow is a two-handed bow added to World of Warcraft with the release of the Midnight expansion. It is a ranged weapon that hunters can use.

Visually, the bow leans into the grim themes of the Rotskin trolls and necromancy: a dark, twisted stave that echoes the rites of the Rotskin tribe from Zul'Aman. This silhouette looks great in looks built around decay, bones, and dark magic.

The item exists in several tiers of quality and item level depending on the difficulty you obtained it on, but the transmog appearance is the same across all versions.

Source

The bow drops from the first encounter of the Maisara Caverns dungeon — the boss Muro'jin. Muro'jin hunts down captives for the dark rites of the Rotskin tribe, and Necrax is his raised-from-the-dead eagle.

  • The dungeon is located in Zul'Aman, with the entrance in the northeast of the zone: /way 43.0 39.5.
  • Maisara Caverns is available on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties, and is also part of the Mythic+ rotation in the first season of Midnight.
  • The dungeon level is 80–90, and access opens up over the course of leveling at around level 83 via the quest Maisara Caverns: Maisara Hungers.
  • The bow is a random drop from the first boss alongside other items from this encounter, so farming is done through repeated runs of the dungeon.
  • On Mythic difficulty and in Mythic+, the item can also be obtained from the shared chest at the end of the run if the boss was defeated.

The fight against Muro'jin and Necrax is a paired one: both enemies need to be brought down almost simultaneously, otherwise the survivor will revive or empower their partner. This affects tactics but not the appearance drop itself — it is enough to finish the fight and collect the loot.

Who It Suits Visually

  • It harmonizes with looks themed around necromancy and the undead — dark armor with bone and rot elements.
  • It fits the "trollish" aesthetic of Zul'Aman: feathers, bones, ritual paraphernalia.
  • It contrasts strikingly with light leather or mosaic sets if you want to make the weapon a grim accent of the look.
  • It pairs well with greenish-swampy and dark-purple color schemes for armor.
  • It fits the concept of a "hunter-ranger from the cursed lands," where the weapon looks picked up on the battlefield rather than ceremonial.

Tips

1

The fastest way to farm is repeated runs of Maisara Caverns on a difficulty comfortable for you; on Heroic the loot drops with a higher item level.

2

The appearance counts toward your collection regardless of difficulty, so for the sake of the look you can run the Normal version if Mythic is still too hard.

3

The fight is paired: keep damage on Muro'jin and Necrax roughly equal so you can finish them off together and not drag out the run.

4

On a hunter you carry the bow in your hands, so check the appearance in the model viewer with your race and stance — weapon placement differs between races.

5

Several items drop from the first boss at once, so a single run can close out not only the bow but also other appearances from this encounter.

6

If you go in Mythic+, the bow can also come from the final chest of the run — you don't have to catch it specifically from the first boss.

7

Bring a group or friends: the paired boss is noticeably easier when damage is split across both targets at once.

8

In Mythic+, Maisara Caverns is considered one of the most demanding dungeons of the season, so for relaxed appearance farming choose a lower difficulty.
