Overview

Кайло 5000

Digmaster 5000 is a rare one-handed axe from the era of classic World of Warcraft, whose model perfectly mimics a mining pickaxe. The item grants a bonus to Agility and has a chance on hit to pierce the target's armor, while its description openly states that it can also be used as an ordinary pickaxe.

The value of the appearance lies in the fact that it is a full-fledged weapon shaped like a pickaxe: real mining pickaxes long ago became profession tools and are no longer eligible for weapon transmogrification. The axe is bind on equip, so until then it can be freely traded and sold.

Source

This is an extremely rare drop from an old dungeon, so the path to the appearance is either persistent farming or a purchase from other players.

  • The Digmaster 5000 drops in the Uldaman dungeon, located in the Badlands.
  • The axe is dropped by the Stonevault Geomancer — one of the dwarves inhabiting the dungeon.
  • It is one of Uldaman's legendary "ultra-rare" items: the drop chance is tiny, by various estimates somewhere around hundredths of a percent.
  • Because of the miniscule chance, players run the dungeon hundreds or even thousands of times for this appearance.
  • The item is bind on equip, so it shows up at the auction house — buying is often faster than farming it yourself.

Visual Appeal

  • Ideal for a dwarf miner or digger look: a pickaxe in hand completes the laborer concept.
  • Pairs well with simple leather and mail armor in earthy, rusty-brown tones.
  • Suits the theme of underground expeditions and prospector outfits.
  • It looks amusing on classes where a work tool contrasts with combat armor.

Tips

1

If farming drags on, check the auction house: thanks to bind on equip, the axe periodically appears there.

2

The Uldaman dungeon is easily soloed by a leveled character, which makes repeat runs simpler.

3

Clear out the Stonevault dwarves — they are the ones who drop the item you need.

4

Plan for many runs: the drop chance is extremely low, and you should not count on luck in a single visit.

5

The appearance unlocks in your transmogrification collection as soon as the axe lands in your bag.

6

Bring a character whose time you don't mind spending on the farm, or save up gold in advance to buy it from other players.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
