Get Dismembered Submersible Claw
Overview

The
"Dismembered Submersible Claw" is a two-handed bludgeoning weapon of rare (blue) quality that appeared in World of Warcraft with the Battle for Azeroth expansion. Its model is a massive crab claw turned into a war hammer: a chitinous "fist" with jagged edges and a dark-blue coloring that shades into green. The look fits perfectly with the nautical and pirate theme of Kul Tiras and suits anyone building an outfit in the spirit of deep-sea creatures.
The weapon is wielded in both hands, so it suits classes that use two-handed maces: warriors, paladins, death knights, as well as shamans as part of an outfit. The item level is 19, but that does not matter for transmogrification: all that counts is the unlocked model in your appearance collection.
Source
The "Dismembered Submersible Claw" drops in the Siege of Boralus dungeon — a Battle for Azeroth-era instance located in the capital of Kul Tiras.
- The hammer drops from Hadal Darkfathom — a sea giant, one of the dungeon's bosses.
- The dungeon is available in Normal, Heroic and Mythic modes, as well as in Mythic Keystone format. Any mode works for farming the appearance.
- The drop chance is low and is shared with the boss's other weapon loot, so it may take several runs.
- These days the dungeon can be cleared solo at max level with ease, so farming is limited by nothing but luck.
- There is no cap on attempts: you can re-enter the dungeon as many times as you need.
Who it suits visually
- It harmonizes with sets in blue-green and turquoise tones — looks in the spirit of the ocean depths and the naga.
- It fits the pirate and sailor sets of Kul Tiras, complementing the theme of seafaring and boarding.
- It contrasts with light plate armor, adding a "wild," beastly detail thanks to the chitinous claw.
- It works in death knight or shaman looks that play on a natural, monstrous aesthetic.
Tips
Farm the boss on whatever difficulty is convenient — there is no difference for the appearance, so pick the one that clears fastest.
At max level the dungeon is cleared solo, so it is convenient to make quick solo runs without looking for a group.
Hadal Darkfathom is not the last boss of the instance, so you will have to fight the previous enemies to reach him; factor this into your run-time estimate.
If the appearance does not drop, re-enter the dungeon again — there are no cooldowns on re-entry.
Check the appearance collection window after the fight: if the model is already unlocked, further farming purely for the appearance is unnecessary.
Paladins and warriors farm most comfortably thanks to high survivability and fast pack clearing.
