Overview

Doompetal

Game iconDoompetal is a ranged wand added to World of Warcraft in the current Midnight expansion. It is a caster weapon: it grants intellect and is intended for mages, priests, and warlocks.

The appearance is designed in the natural, plant-based style of the dungeon it drops from: the wand looks like a living shoot, threaded with the energy of the Lightbloom that has invaded the vale and twisted everything alive. Its warm glow and organic shape set it apart from the usual arcane and crystalline wands. This is a fresh appearance from the current expansion, which makes it sought after by collectors gathering up-to-date transmog.

Source

Doompetal drops from Ikuzz the Light Hunter, the second boss of The Blinding Vale dungeon. The dungeon is located in Harandar, in the southwestern part of the zone.

  • The appearance can be obtained in the dungeon on all available difficulties — Normal, Heroic, and Mythic.
  • Ikuzz is a large predator of the devilsaur family, fallen under the sway of the Lightbloom; it is the second boss along the way through the dungeon.
  • The wand becomes soulbound on pickup, so you should farm the appearance on the character who needs it, or collect it into your appearance collection.
  • The Blinding Vale is not yet part of the Mythic+ seasonal rotation for the first season of Midnight, but the appearance is already available now through Normal, Heroic, and Mythic modes.
  • There is no hard weekly cap on the appearance itself: you can rerun the dungeon until the wand drops.

How to reach The Blinding Vale

The entrance to the dungeon is in Harandar, in the southwestern part of the zone, near the coordinates 27.8, 77.9. You can get there through the Midnight dungeon system at max level.

Who it suits visually

  • The wand fits "natural" and druidic caster looks: its organic shape pairs well with cloth armor in earthy and green tones.
  • The warm glow of the Lightbloom matches nature- and Light-themed sets, adding a living accent to the look.
  • It suits the concept of a mage or warlock who draws on the power of twisted nature rather than classic mana and arcane.
  • It contrasts with cold arcane armor, making the wand a bright highlight in blue and purple sets.

Tips

1

Enter The Blinding Vale at max level 90 — Ikuzz is the second boss, so make your way to him through the dungeon.

2

Farm the appearance on a caster: the wand suits mages, priests, and warlocks, and it can also come in handy as an actual weapon at the start of the season.

3

If the wand doesn't drop, rerun the dungeon — there is no attempt cap on the appearance.

4

Account for Ikuzz's mechanics: he ensnares players with roots and locks onto a target, so don't drag out the fight and keep the group together.

5

Collect the appearance alongside running the dungeon for gear — at the start of the season, loot from here is useful for more than just cosmetics.

6

Check your appearance collection before heading in: if the wand is already unlocked, there's no point wasting attempts on it again.
